so, according to Bush, if you protest the war he can take your stuff

this was written last night, while we all slept comfortably in our beds

Executive Order: Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq

Actual Passage
I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, find that, due to the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by acts of violence threatening the peace and stability of Iraq and undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq and to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people, it is in the interests of the United States to take additional steps with respect to the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 of May 22, 2003, and expanded in Executive Order 13315 of August 28, 2003, and relied upon for additional steps taken in Executive Order 13350 of July 29, 2004, and Executive Order 13364 of November 29, 2004. I hereby order:

Section 1. (a) Except to the extent provided in section 203(b)(1), (3), and (4) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1702(b)(1), (3), and (4)), or in regulations, orders, directives, or licenses that may be issued pursuant to this order, and notwithstanding any contract entered into or any license or permit granted prior to the date of this order, all property and interests in property of the following persons, that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of United States persons, are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported,

EDIT the protest part: (B) undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people
Islam does. The leader's of "Islamic" countries don't. Big difference. Regardless, that is such an Ad Homen excuse to derail the main point being made.

OK, no where did that state in plain english or legal jargon that if you protest the Iraq War, all of your assets will be seized.

This:

"due to the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by acts of violence threatening the peace and stability of Iraq and undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq and to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people, it is in the interests of the United States to take additional step"

taken directly from your spoiler and the link, I see no reference to protesting. Especially in the sense of picket signs and slogans. Kinda like "Hey, hey, LBJ! How many kids you kill today?" I see nothing in there.

Now, I'm not a Bush fan by any stretch of the imagination. So get no ideas about me being a Bush baby.

thats just what the islamic believe does, it indoctrinates the leaders and gives them no choice

so muslims really have a choice not to participate in the djihad against the western people?

No you moron the leaders act like that but not because of Islam. They use it as an excuse, but when has Bush not used Christianity to block stem cell research? He's just as bad.

then tell me, why DO they act like that?

why do they wanna slaughter the western pigs (litterally from koran)?

bush doesnt want genocide, muslims do. bush doesnt use god to justify his actions, he just wants us to have a good life

I don't see anything about them "taking your stuff if yiou protest the war." It's probably in reference to those who aid and abet insurgents.

It's bogus. It's against the bill of rights and unconstiutional to do that. They would have to change the ammendments to allow such a law to pass. Besides, I see no evidence of this in the link he posted.

I'm pretty sure they could never enforce that on a protester. That would never hold up in court since the President cannot over ride the US constitution. Especially the 1st amendment that allows US citizens the right for peaceful protests. This edict is geared more towards people or groups that fund money to other groups that hamper the US in Iraq. Like if you send a bunch of money to a charity that knowingly funds the Mahdi army.

His father owns oil and presidents become far richer when they are out of office anyways...so why pawn our stuff? But in any case he really needs to stop being a child. WAAAA some people dont like what im doing but im gonna do it anyways because its what I WANT. The real trouble is the laws he set in motion for years to come....who knows what future presidents will now be able to get away with thanks to the patriot act, the war powers act, and this new one

Undermining efforst to provide humanitarian assistance would be attacking a UN convoy, not saying "Get out now!"
