If you were Adopted, would you Care?

Incredibly, I've never played this scenario through in my head before about five minutes ago. The prop 4 topic got me thinking about the subject lol.

If I was told now that I was adopted I honestly don't think I'd care too much, I'm 19, about to move out anyways, so it wouldn't be like a dark cloud hanging over the household. Furthermore, being adopted doesn't mean that the love between parent and child is fake so I guess it wouldn't effect me too much.

It would make absolutely no difference to me.

Wow, I think I'd be in shock.

Being lied to all these years.

It's like, "I'm 18 and you're barely telling me now?!"

But then I'd kinda chill out about it because it just means someone loved me enough to care for me and give me a home.

At my age I really wouldnt care or feel differently about my parents, etc. I might, however, be curious about some things.

At his point in my life, absolutely I would be upset and angered. 10 or so years ago? Not so much.

I'd rather be alive than dead, so I would love to be adopted.

I would like to think it wouldn't matter to me... but knowing me I would get curious. Start thinking... is this why I I can curl my tongue? Is this why I am a lefty? Is this why I get cranky in the morning?

It wouldn't change the way I feel about my adoptive parents (granted that we are in good relations) -- the question is -- is that information really enough?

Would it benefit me as a person to know where I came from or am I happy to not know? (Ignorance is bliss right?)

I was adopted didn't bother me, at a young age and I was told about it to so there wouldn't be secrets.

Growing up with my biological family I realize that there isn't a biological connection, it's just traditions, as I have friends closer than some family members, so now I wouldn't mind. However, if I was adopted from birth, I may have had some kind of envy towards biological families, as I would have never experienced it and imagined it to be something more meaningful than it actually is. But all in all, I doubt I would care as I would have made friends of no relation to me, probably had decent and loving parents, and would have realized that genetics isn't how I value people.

It honestly wouldn't matter to me. I know this for a fact because of events in my own life during the past (long story). ...also, my brother is adopted, and there is no possible way he could be less of a brother. Also, I wouldn't mind adopting one day.mindstorm

Um, don't really know. If they wanted me I figure they would look for me or something. Maybe after I finish school I might want to look for them.
