what would you do with it?

The pot was 120 million, and taxes take out a third of it.

I would invest half of it, pay off college, give my family nice presents, and make sure that I dont spend it all and be like the 1 out of 3 people who go bankrupt after winning a high-number lottery.

I'd place it all in blue chip stocks and other relatively safe investments. I would keep the small amount needed to live a happy life on an annual basis, and the remainder of the proceeds from dividends and interest would be given away to family, friends, and worthy causes.

No need for many luxuries for me. There aren't many things I'd buy for myself, and with the exception of a nice house and perhaps a couple of new grand pianos to replace my current ones, none of them would be very expensive either.

First I would buy a house with a big yard and build a skatepark in it.

Then I would start my own skateboard and clothing company.

Give some to my relatives, then buy a few things for myself. Other than that, I'd throw some in a retirement fund, and have a vacation or something.

I would invest some maybe 1 million. Save some for college, Buy a top of the line PC, best money can buy, buy a huge theatre system (actually make that 3 theatre systems all for my house. Give a million to my parents, buy a really nice car then trade stocks.

I would spend it wisely. Buy fifteen houses, start a car collection, buy a jet to fly around the world, a couple yachts, and then go bankrupt after two months.

Though not to that extreme, plenty of idiots do something like that and wonder where all the money went. Give more than a hundred million dollars to some people, and you can STILL be guaranteed they'll end up filing for bankruptcy.

Buy a car

Put some money away for my college tuition

Get new doors, windows and a back porch for our house (something my mom's been wanting for a while)

Buy new TVs for me, my friends and family

Buy a bunch of games and movies

Give a million to charity

Then I'd put what's left into savings

A whole million to charity, eh? Aren't you generous. You do realize that the interest (let's say a paltry 2.5%... and you can do much better than that) you collect on $80 000 000 dollars is about $2 000 000 a year, right?

Taxes? Im in Canada no taxes for me 8) But Regardless, If I won 80 million in the lottery I would:

1. Put 20 Million In The Bank
2. Invest 20 Million
3. Spend 15 million on house, furniture, car + w/e else you need
4. Do whatever else with the rest

Once you got older, you'd relize you shouldn't have wasted so much money on Prom.

I got in free and I regret it.

I would invest most of it, share some of it out with my immediate family, give some away to charity and then finish my education. Once it's generated a little interest I'll go and buy a house, some cars and maybe a jet or two.

I didn't realize so many lottery winners go bankrupt. I can definitely understand why tho, so much money at once can give people the impression that they can keep on spending care free.

Me on the other hand I'd be happy with a nice ski lodge in B.C., a cottage Muskoka, a house in Victoria for me and another house for my parents. Id buy me a lincoln navigator and my parents a car. do travelling for a year, and save the rest and continue working as a line cook.

save the rest for the future.

I would give my parents a fair amount of it, as well as my brother. I'd buy a truck and I'd put the rest in an account so it will grow. I would continue my job. Pay my way thru college.

120 million cups of coffee

seriously. I would buy a new house (nothing too fancy), a nice collection of cars, new equipment to go in said house (entertainment, nice furnishings, etc), give some money to family, invest loads and spend money to keep myself comfortable and happy (well, money and happiness is debated)

I think I'd spend it rather conservatively.

I don't need a lot of stuff, or a huge mansion.

I'd just be happy to have financial security for the rest of my life.

Oh, and I'd buy katanas, a lot of katanas, they're awesome.:D

I'd assume if the pot was that big i'd win keep about 73 million. I'd get the giving all the money i'm gonna give to my family, friends and chairty first. I'd say after all of that i'd have about 50 million. I'd then just live my life easily get my self a cool house in Flordia get my self some nice cars and live out the next 60 maybe 70 years of my life doing what i wanted.

It's selfless people like you that are ruining the fabric of our society. :x

Anyway:

A Porsche 911 Turbo, a Ferrari 360 Modena, a Mercedes S65 AMG, a Mercedes C63 AMG, a BMW M3, a heavily-fortified and guarded garage to put them all in, and insurance to cover them all. Also, $5 to charity.

80 million cool ones huh?

I think that I would pay of my house. Pay off my parents house. And that lease st least 79 million left. I'd buy a new car (with great MPGs). I'd build a new house on a new piece of property. Now we're at 78 million. I'd gift 100,000 to each family member (that's about 15 million). Now we're at 63 million. I'd take 30 million and put it into a protfolio that paid dividends and would make this my primary income. I'd take 15 million and break it into 100,000 grants and then spend another 500,000 on handling the distribution of those funds with final approval going through me. That leaves about 17 million? I'd put 250,000 into college funds for my future progeny. Let's say 6, so that's 1.5 million. I'd invest 500,000 into the family business. I guess with 15 million more, I'd do the same as the grants, but I'd do it for charities.

80 million is more than anyone will ever need in their entire lifetime. It's crazy to think of how you'd spend that much.

But it's enough to take over a few countries and then use the appropriated funds to regroup and continue.

Secure my family and baby (No, I don't mean by buying a 5 million dollar home) Pay off college for me, my sister, my brother's fiance and my son, put a little aside for my child's future and then donate the rest. All in all, I'd most likely only keep 2 million. The rest I would give to the less fortunate.

Your heart is definitely in the right place - but you could do so much more if you invested the money in safe investments, then simply donated the proceeds of the investments. Don't just give it away - let the money work for you.

And your heart is definitely not in the right place. It's like compassion and generosity are an alien concept to some people. What the hell would you do with 80 million dollars and the proceeds of the investments anyways?

Buy an apartment, invest in some companies, and live out my days cooking for my girlfriend, playing games, and just taking it easy.
