If you are forced to get rid of one of your primary emotions, which one would you choose? these are the 5 primary emotions. Love Fear Sadness Joy Anger Suprise is the sixth primary emotion but i'm not including it because everyone will choose it.

Fear. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

fear of course....

if you weren't afraid, life would be a lot easier, and funner.

but you'd probably do something stupid and die.

From a practical standpoint I would get rid of anger. From a totally badass, alpha-male standpoint, I'd get rid of fear.

It's a hard one, I'd want to keep them all. Hmm. Probably fear. Sadness is the obvious one, but without it I wouldn't appreciate things. Therefore fear.

Fear is an important emotion for our survival. Losing joy and love wouldn't make life worth living. This leaves my choice between anger and sadness, from which I have to choose sadness. I hate to be miserable and I rarely experience anger.

Of those five, sadness. You need fear to keep you safe; you don't need anger, but it is still a powerful emotion that can keep you focused and motivated; joy and love are also powerful emotions that can give you a boost. Sadness is self-destructive and brings you down.

Fear and Sadness, as inconvenient as they may be, are useful emotions. Anger never does any good, so I'll get rid of that.

I would probably pick Anger as I have very personal issues with that particular emotion and it tends to lead to dreary bouts of self-loathing and depression. I do enjoy how most people are picking fear as it calls to mind a program I used to watch about serial killers (I think it was called Most Evil) in which the main problem with fairly prolific serial killers was their disconnection with their feelings of fear.

I can't believe people would give up fear. It's the one emotion that keeps us alive. We would be playing on the freeway and jumping off cliffs if we didn't have it.

I think it can do good, when used right. Forgive me if I am wrong, but I think anger can be an important part in discipline. If I never made my parents angry, then they wouldn't punish me for bad things that I did... It's only when not controlled that anger becomes a problem. Like, when drunkards go on angry rampages and stuff.

Discipline should always be out of love, not anger. Anger only clouds the mind and makes us into revenge-mongering morons. Imagine how much better the world would be if no one ever got angry at each other!

Just because my parents are angry with me, doesn't mean they don't love me. :P I certainly know the feeling of loving someone and yet being in a complete and utter rage with them. Now I've considered it, I certainly think it's less useful than sadness and fear (even though it was my answer) but I don't think it does absolutely no good.

Strangely i sort of did it before with fear and maybe joy and sadness for a short amount of time, i also don't really get angry. I guess anger would be the simple answer as it dosn't effect me that much anyways but all of them have side effects.

Without thinking I would probably go with fear, but then I saw that Batman cartoon show where The Scarecrow creates a toxin that removes Batman's fears and inhibitions, making him much more reckless than usual-and it doesn't stop there. The writers are savvy enough to even make him more heartless, as he doesn't fear what his own reaction will be if, say, Robin gets killed or if he breaks his one rule and murders a criminal. Scarecrow is making a point that fear is necessary, not just useful, and then in his usual mad fashion extends that to mean that he is necessary to have around.

Fear. I want to be a soldier when I get older and anger would be a bad thing to lose if I am ever in combat, but fear necessarily would not be. So fear (besides, fear leads to anger - no fear = no anger).

Fear, if no one had fear imagine all the things we could accomplish
