I'm neutral on this. I've heard two things.

-Crazy tin foil people are just being paranoid because they thought the Illuminati is controlling them through music industry because of stupid symbols and reference they found.

-The Illuminati controls the music industry, mass-producing Justin Beaver, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lady Gaga and more.

I laugh at both statement, and I refuse to believe in both.

Of course it's true. Although this must be a special sect of Illuminati, since they're targeting preteen girls.

Glad you know, I constantly switch my thoughts like they're not even mine, one side of me think about this, the other side of me will come and balance it out. That's why I refuse to believe in both statement.

well... it is an industry, a business. And the point is to get consumers to give them money. Like children's toys. Those things mean everything to kids and they think life it all about playing with toys. Same goes for the music industry. It's a toy that entertains a different audience. So why would anyone think the music industry exists to do anything other than convince the consumers to buy the latest music? As far as some elaborate influence is concerned... people who have important things to do rarely listen to music. The music industry simply tells teenagers and post teenagers what to buy or like in terms of music. As far as actually influencing... People with power and the ability or intelligence to actually do something other than listen to and buy things don't care about music. It goes in one ear and out the other.

Besides if you listen to most music it's some ass-backwards BS that only makes senseto a teenager. So I know most of that music is written specificallyto exploit thenaivety of their target audience. I suppose there could be an Illuminati, but that Illuminatiwould have to be comprised of jerks in order for them to actually believe they are an Illuminati.

In amanner they are an Illuminati, but only in a fashionthatbelittles both the industry andit's consumers. After all a room full of jerks is an Illuminati when compared to an idiot.

Firstly, why does anyone find Jay Z or Kanye 'fishy'!? (response to a poster above)

Secondly, the only thing the music want to control is what music you listen to or what annoying pre-teen joke they want school girls to scream at this year.

u know... im not one of these 'tin foil' peple but i have done quite a bit of ameteur research and i seriously do believe it. you can see in many music videos, signs and symbols that are illuminati/ masonically based. also some lyrics. i do finid it a bit weird that the majority of people fail to believe. its a know fact that these organisations exist and i am not gonna go into the details of why right now (could be here all day)

Well, one side of me just beg me to believe they exist, if I shut off my other side that disagrees, I can say this is very real. I'm dazed and confused all the time, so I'll stay neutral.

lol being a skeptic on such a subject is only natural. when i was first told about jay z i was like 'get the hell out of here!!' then i watched a number of youtube vids called ' the arrivals' ... it comes in 50 or so parts and is a real eye opener... if you are a neutral and u think that there may be an exisatance of such organisations i strongly recommmend you watch the series. if your into the stuff you wont want the series to end. some of the stuff can seem really surreal in the begininng but it all makes sense.

mate its like when someone is sworn into an organisation they must honor it and 'sell their soul' there is no going back... if someone wants out, the illuminati will destroy their rep or take further actions (note MJ is a child abuser and the likes of britney spears is a drugged up junkie)... to get out of th ebusiness they will murdur your image and rep!!!

mate ofcourse its not just the music industry. also i dont believe that they exist only for record sales. every thing is connected they try to rot the human mind in anyway possible without being in the light. its not just music. just look at movies, lol go on youtube and type in evil disney or something and you will see stuff that really should not belong in a childs movie ...its quite sickening really

My position is... I don't care either way... If some evil secret organization(organization XIII, Shinra power company, Omni Consumer Products, or BP) controls some product/industry then thats just too bad... Either way I'm unaffected.

That's true for some but there are others who are fuled by music, it's a lifestyle to them, a centre. I'm not sure if those words are coming from your mouth to to think that because you are listening to music your not doing something important, that annoys me for some reason, it's like saying these people are not important.

Blah having trouble putting my perspective across here, it's like I need to get all serious all a sudden but I'm not in the right frame of mind to do it.

The masons definitely exist, they are the most famous "secret" organization in the world. The Illuminati I'm not so sure. But seriously, let's suppose that they do actually exist. Why the hell would they want to control the music industry???? The crappy part of the music industry no less. I mean, what's the point???

hmmmm concidering that the premise behind these organisations is based on religion and a vast amount of gamespot users are atheiests i can see why many of you people do not believe. if you do believe in religion, you would find it easier to believe in the existance and operations of such organisations the general idea if the masons is to remove religion from society, corrupt the true word of god etc etc, so that in the not to distant future they can make way for their god 'the devil' who will rule from israel!!! yeah sounds absurred but i do believe it all money will end up in isreal not in paper but via banking.

No doubt evil organizations exist. Look no further than organized crime for proof of that. But I can't put any stock in any of this Illuminati/NWO stuff. Not because I am not religious, but because the theories behind them are completely nonsensical.

It wouldn't really mean much even if it was.

Let's say the illuminati isn't a manipulative force in the music industry and instead it's some remnant of a pre-mid-20th-century Vanderbilt fortune or the Astors or Rothschilds or Goldsteins. Doesn't make a difference, the manipulation is obviously there; it's called smart marketing. There's your global conspiracy if anything. Speculating about it seems kind of pointless to me because of this.

I suppose the only concern is where the money goes in the end game isn't it. By the way I'm not a believer in this Illuminati, I mean I got respect for mankinds genius, computers, machines, that kind of thing, but one thing we totally suck as is keeping secrets.

And this is exactly what conspiracies do to people. I could show you TONS of videos on the JFK shooting, 9/11, etc... Would that suddenly make you a believer that there was another culprit? Obviously you need to broaden your view. What do these videos you watch have in common? THEY'RE ALL ONE - SIDED.

I saw a Youtube video of someone ranting about how a Lady Gaga song was filled with satanic imagery or something. On that video, there was a comment like "I like 'Imma Be,' but it's a pretty Illuminati song." Needless to say, I found these comments ridiculous.

Yeah, a teacher told us something about a Jay-Z song that when you play it backwards it says '666, murder murder Jesus'. And a beatles song that when some people listen to it, they feel like smoking marijuana and when it was played backwards they heard 'I wanna smoke marijuana' in the song. According to him, the left side of the brain subconsciously picks up these messages without you knowing.

I'm not sure if i believe in these things though.

Oh and the teacher also told us about how Sony was a devil-worshipping company and how an employee got scared and left because 'When they had successes in their business, they had devil parties...'

If the Illuminati controlling everything and trying to establish a NWO that leads to a universal government, peace and harmony across all races, creeds and genders and overall rapid technological, artistic and intellectual progression of human society... then I'm all for it.

What I don't get is where this whole conspiracy theory even came from.

Imagine amedium that can spread a message across all demographics. Religion, Gender, Age groups, just about everything. Now imagine a group (Illuminati, Free Masons, etc...) that wants to spread a subliminal message to the world. What better way is there to do it than through the medium that covers almost all demographics? I think it's very possible.

Illuminati is the big thing right now, thanks to twitter, facebook, and youtube - word spreads around and people will believe everything they read online.

I remember reading Eddie Murphy dying and everyone was posting R.I.P. posts online and stuff... Because of that and all this New World Order nonsense I try to stay clear of anything mainstream. You sell too many records and BAM you're illuminati. You do an artsy video - you're illuminati.

I think the whole thing is stupid and people who believe in it have nothing better to do then speculate about these artist and conspiracies. It's all just a new form of gossip.

I'll stick to my geek gossip and wonder if The Dark Knight Rises is going to have Talia Al Ghul and Catwoman; while you guys argue over millions of dollars in the music industry going to some phantom organization.

No. No I don't.

I belief such groups exist, but I don't believe all that religion, devil nonsense.

Money is power, and such industries generate tons of it.

Why is everyone so paranoid about these "Illuminati" who, assuming they exist, have accomplished **** all for their entire existence. What would be the point of controlling the music industry? Just so they can sneak in some of their stupid symbols into a Justin Beiber music video for some giggles? Even if they did do that, it would accomplish nothing but announcing their presence. It's not some conspiracy why these pop bands are popular, people are just stupid.
