I just can't help it. I don't know what it is, but its just such a huge part of my past that I can't break away from. Lego's too.

The wave of nostalgia just hits me and it feels better then any drug I've ever taken. It's a fantastic rush. I know this sounds insane, but try it some time. Go out and buy a TMNT action figure or a G.I. Joe. or hell a Barbie if you're a girl.

It's like free falling through Nirvana. I can't even describe it. It just feels... right.

I know what you mean, I go back in my head to the days of the past all the time. It feels great and it is very drug like. But something I have noticed, if you go back too much, the drug stops having effect. Then you can't get that feeling anymore. Atleast that is my experiance.

Nothing wrong with that.

I'm 32 and almost shelled out $ 200.00 for a mint-condition Kenner Toys AT-AT walker via eBay last year.

If i had more courage i would be buying tons of Legos all the time, i do understand what you mean. It's amazing how relaxing it is. Sitting down, all alone, peace of mind, and 4 hours later you're like man, time went fast!. I regret that they didn't come up with the idea of Lego Batman, Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones when i was young because i'd been all over them, believe me. And i'm 24 by the way.

Its sort of like how we just want to hold on to something in our past that just meant so much to us and gave us such joy as children or when we were younger.

It's kind of how like older generations go out of their way to find some of their old parts of their past in Ebay and in life. Like an old Hot Wheels car, or the All Mighty Mint condition Barbie doll.

I'm just glad that when I'm older, you can damn well guarantee I'll be playing some of my old favorite video games. Probably within a small wireless chip inserted into my brain. Here's hoping I live that long...

What can I say, I'm a sucker for the classics. Gunstar Heroes is probably one of my favorite shooters of all time, right on top of Contra for me.

Well what about you ladies and gentlemen, what are some of your favorite old toys?

it's true though, I do it a lot, and people always come into my store buying old tv shows, and I'll comment, and they'll be like "yep, revisiting the child hood, I can't believe you had it!"

Heathcliff ftw. Childish? I don't know. I just don't give a damn anymore. I tried to act tough when I was in High School and wore a mask. At this point I just don't care. If my opinions aren't of those that are around me then I know I'm doing my job.

I T.O.T.A.L.L.Y. understand your feeling! I too am haunted by a sempiternal, warm feeling of nostalgia. When I think of the toys, the cartoons, the movies of my youth (80's), it feels so right, like you said yourself.

No really, there's nothing to be ashamed of! When you buy Transformers, Lego or other toys, you don't hurt anybody.

I still buy and collect old stuff myself and I am 26. I bought a lot of transformers remake toys, the foot tall optimus, and I am really into transformers statues. I also just recently bought beast wars on DVD. Strangely enough I like beast wars better than G1. Granted I have G1 on DVD as well and it is kind of lame. I also love G Gundam and Dragonball Z. I collected all of the hyper mode gundam recently (very hard to track down). I like dragonball z toys back when Irwin toys was making them but they went out of bussiness cause they couldn't deliver merchandise fast enough

I think its really strange to hang on to the past like that, I always look to the future, like college and videogames of the next generation :P The past is gone, and unless your life really sucks in the present, whats the point in looking back?

I understand. I actually bought the Optimus Prime toy from the movie. I wish Legos weren't just for little ones, because I remember just sitting down with the little instruction book building for hours, I wanna do it again sometime.

Wow, did you come to this board to troll? Honestly, 80% of the posts of yours that I've seen have been about materialism.

Anyway, back on topic, that's awesome man! I know what you mean there. You get a feeling that you just can't describe! My friend used to play with Legos a lot as a kid, and he recently was fiddling around with an old set that he had and told me, "Wow, I forgot how fun these were!" He proceeded to go out and buy some more, newer sets. :P So I say if it's something you like, go for it! Don't let what other stuck-up people think stop you.

I've been feeling pretty down lattely, maybe I will go visit some of my old past times to try and restore my identity.
