I was asked to be a male cheerleader by a cheerleader friend of mine, I refused. They are in desperate need of strong guys FYI, they need strong males to throw and catch the females so if it's your aspiration you could show up one day and ask to be on the team and they'll take you easily. Nothing wrong with it by the way, male cheerleaders need tons of upper body strength and you need to be in great shape to be one, you aren't dancing around like the girls, just tossing and catching them mostly.

Honestly, I see no problem in this at all. There are tons of male cheerleaders.

You should always be what you want to be, and not what others want you to be.

I fully support it. If you are trying out for a competitive team you need to be on top physical shape along with being flexible. Braun and flexibility and dexterity and being able to follow a beat is very important. Upper body strength is important if you're trying out to be a base.

Real men do girly things anyway. Thats where all the womenz are at. Plus there is some utility to be had from doing girly things. I have taken a knitting class before. Even though I failed to meet any attractive women I got an awesome, cheap sweater out of the experience. And I know how to stitch a cross into my chest in case I need to battle the demon hordes to save my dear wife.

Well, I took an Home Ec. class if that counts. And most of the students in there were girls.

a couple of years ago I would have called you a g@y. However, now that I have wisened with age I would say go for it and if you get on the cheerleading team you are one lucky SOB. You get to hold girls up in the air and look up their skirts.

Being male and a cheerleader is only seen as strange because of how society acts.

The problem is, if you don't follow a "socially acceptable" mold, you're seen as being "different".

I say go for it.:D

Can I also just add, I do admit that I don't find male cheerleaders attractive - I get the stigma about how its a "feminine" sport. I am completely guilty of looking at them differently too - but at the same time, I have mad respect for them. Maybe I work too closely with them to not "think of them that way" but they do some really crazy, hard stuff. So props and I still say go for it!
