I'm dissapointed with people that listen to the same music over and over again

I'm going to post a link that shows some of what people keep buying from the most over rated artists in the world, I don't know why a hand full of people like me can't aquire music that sounds good and is not the same old repetitive thing. Anyway, what kind of music do you buy, is it mainstream or under rated(90% of my stuff is)stuff?

Im not saying people shouldnt like all the popular stuff, but all that popular stuff is not even close to what great music is. I can always tell what type of garbage is going to be popular, and I do hate most of it.

Im American and i dont dislike America at all, but our mainstreem music is just awful.

Well, being an old fashioned kind of guy I tend to listen to bands that aren't that popular, I've never really liked the mainstream music seen.

I buy/listen to whatever feels good to me. Couldn't really care if someone didn't like the kind of music I listen to, everyone has different tastes.

They did, but they don't have a fan base as big as some of the more mainstreem bands that people like. Artists like Tegan and Sara, Feist,The Derailers, Buck Owens, Dwight Yoakam, Benny Benassi, to name a few that I listen to.

Well quality of music is all up to one's opinion, and I personaly like a lot of the rock bands from the UK (placebo, muse....) But this Soulja Boy stuff that plays every day on the radios here, its just bad.

My first post was a little too general. I like some american artists like the kilers, audrye sessions, the whute stripes, incubus, carolina liar, interpol.

I'd say that most people have terrible taste in music. But people like what they like so it's whatever.

And as far as listening to the same stuff over and over again goes, I generally try to buy at least one album a week by an artist that I just got into. But there are tons of people like my dad who haven't bought a single album in years that wasn't a greatest hits compilation and are perfectly content with it.

tool, the deftones, at the drive in, i listen to these bands over and over. it really has nothing to do with you anyway.

Music is music =) mainstream or not, it´s personal preferences - just like you said yourself.

Judging music and including the argument of something being mainstream is really besides the point when it comes to the aesthetical quality of it.
