I'm 25 and I still havn't decided what I want to be when I "grow up." Im Waiting tables right now, and I HATE it, I chose this job because of the flexible hours, so I could choose a career path and go to school for it all while having a job. Problem is I just don't know what I want to do. Im so afraid of having a Job that I hate for the rest of my life. When I try and figure out what I want to do I can only think of very few jobs that exist... So my question to everyone is:

What do you do for a living/ and or go to school for? and do you enjoy your job?

any other career deciding advice is welcomed as well.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Nobody really knows what they want to do when they're young. Go to school, get a degree, and no matter what you major in, that'll prepare you perfectly fine for an office job, which'll pay well and you can be happy and lovved and all that jazz. And if you find something else you love at school, go for it.

Try going to a career fair that colleges hold every now and then. Just look and browse around, see if anything interests you. If that doesnt work out look for another job you like more than your current one, that'll at least be a start in a better direction.

I am a network admin, hate it.. boring as hell. I am currently doing law, will not become a lawyer unless I really need to, so basically the only job I found an interest is the the marines till I die or I am old enough to be discharged. I don't know exactly what I want to do with my education if anything.

Well, I don't really see why telling you what I do and if I enjoy it or not will help you decide in what you want to do. Being scared of having a job that you will hate for the rest of your life is a valid fear - but you shouldn't let it dictate what you do. Start asking yourself what it is you like to do - not job or career wise but just something/s you enjoy doing in life. If you don't know then its time to diversify. To do that, you need to start trying new things. Take different classes and try other jobs. I can't really tell you the next step until you let me know about those first.

I'm going to to school to be a RN right now. (only a year and a half to go ) and I love going to my clinical's. Interacting with patients and constantly thinking, so much to learn too. It fits everything I want in a job.

Depends. Just because you go to school and get a degree doesn't automatically guarantee you a job in the field you've studied for. Unless you major something highly specialize such as architecture or engineering, chances are people will find themselves working on a career path that is vastly different than what you had planned.

In general, I'll say stick with business if you truly have no clue what you want to do/study since it is one area that has a board application and teach you skill sets that will most likely benefit you in different careers
