I tried posting this on the film union but I couldn't cause I'm not a member. Anyway, my friends wanted me to go see Toy Story 3 with them but I declined. The last Pixar movie I saw was Up and I wasn't impressed at all.
I didn't think the humor was suitable for adults. The chipmunk voice would be funny for a kid but it wasn't for me.
I was disappointed that the scientist once again turned out to be the antagonist. I was hoping that pixar would abandon this cliche but I guess not. That just perpetuates the stereotype that every scientist has the potential to go mad. Pixar has a lot of influence over kids - they should be careful how their movies can be interpreted.
In Up, the protagonist's wife was introduced and subsequently killed in the course of 15 minutes. While some people like to have their emotions manipulated like that, I don't. I would rather see a movie that has something to say.
