I tried posting this on the film union but I couldn't cause I'm not a member. Anyway, my friends wanted me to go see Toy Story 3 with them but I declined. The last Pixar movie I saw was Up and I wasn't impressed at all.

I didn't think the humor was suitable for adults. The chipmunk voice would be funny for a kid but it wasn't for me.

I was disappointed that the scientist once again turned out to be the antagonist. I was hoping that pixar would abandon this cliche but I guess not. That just perpetuates the stereotype that every scientist has the potential to go mad. Pixar has a lot of influence over kids - they should be careful how their movies can be interpreted.

In Up, the protagonist's wife was introduced and subsequently killed in the course of 15 minutes. While some people like to have their emotions manipulated like that, I don't. I would rather see a movie that has something to say.

Well Up and Toy Story 3 are two completely different movies. Plot and Storyline aren't then same in both movies, so don't think Toy Story 3 is going to be like Up. Even if you didn't like Up, don't let that discourage you from seeing Toy Story 3. I would still go see it.

I haven't seen either one. I don't remember seeing any previews for Toy Story 3, so I don't even know what it's about.

This seems like a joke thread, dude get some humor or just reality. You seem to be taking the movies way to seriously because of some trivial things of the movies. Go watch Dr. Horrible or something.

EDIT: I wouldn't care this much if it weren't that you are refusing to see a great movie just cause of something that annoyed you from one of other movies.

Hell, the antagonist of UP wasn't a scientist he was an explorer, at least get it right.

You should try watching Wall-e, that's the kind of Pixar film you might like. Toy Story 3, however, has no resemblance to Up. The storyline is much darker and the film is aimed at the college students who watched the first two Toy Story movies when they were kids.

All I have to say the Toy Story was absolutely incredible. Only problem I had with the movie was in like the last five minutes and it wasnt even a big thing.

Actually this isn't a joke thread. You should turn down your troll sensor. Anyway I only criticized the chipmunk humor but I had other problems with the movie. Usually I can suspend disbelief for Pixar movies but Up was just too ridiculous.

TC, you are a strange kind of stupid. That's like if I was watching a movie and there was a joke that only made me smile instead of laughing, that I would hate the movie. Just watch one of the best movies of all time, IT HAS a 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. That's one of the top 50 movies EVER.

Up is better than TS3 imo. In the end, it's still another animated film geared towards a general audience and mainly kids. I can't see Pixar ever doing a mature movie, though I'd like to see them do something geared towards adults. There aren't many other animators out there with the same talent as the guys at Pixar.

I only gave one example but i don't remember laughing the entire movie. This was basically my reaction to most jokes in the movie:

You should take it easy with the insults. You're taking this way too personally.

If you enjoyed the first two , then you'll probably enjoy this. I thought Up had plenty to say and to me was easily the better movie. Think you are blowing the mad scientist thing out of proportion and missed the point of the film.

I didn't like UP the first time I saw it for similar reasons, but I really liked Toy Story 3. You shouldn't put all Pixar movies in one boat since there's a huge variety of films based on scripts written by different people.

Also he was basically an explorer and was not really presented as a scientist. So this mad scientist thing does not really hold much water.

Wouldn't be better to watch the movie and then come to share your opinions instead of asking in a forum about it, specially since your argument of why you don't want to watch Toy Story 3 is kind of bad, i mean, Up and Toy Story 3 are completely different movies.

I loved Up, but not because I liked Toy Story. I'd imagine the two aren't that similar. You can dislike one and still like the other. Just go see the film, and don't over-analyse. Leave that to the film critics.

I really don't get how you can't like Up. I really can't get how you can not want to see Toy Story 3, one of the best movies this year, because you didn't like movie by the same studio (not the same writers or directors even, just studio). I think the answer here is very simple in fact: TC you don't make sense. Opinions are great but you're being silly. Go watch Toy Story 3.
