We still use imperial for alot of stuff in the UK ... Most of us measure our height in feet and inches and our weight in stones and pounds, we still work in miles rather than kilometres and we still buy our beer in pints from the pub ... It just tends to be consumer goods, food and drink from the supermarket, petrol from the petrol station etc. which are measured in metric units as the European Union ruled that these kind of things have to be in metric units.
Don't take that as an anti-EU thing as personally I am used to buying food in kilograms and juice in mililitres and litres etc.
Metric, I refuse to learn imperial I mean 12 inches in a foot!? 3feet in a yard?! 1760 yards in a mile!? I mean like WTF? I seriously do not see any sense here...
Metric, god I wish the Americans would switch to it, it's so much easier, and we would be able to stop learning the conversions in school (so annoying).

Bad news for those of you who wish the US would change- never going to happen. Seriously, it gets brought up ever 10 years or so, and when it does, people get their pitchforks and torches ready to go take down the government. That usually keeps the government in line from getting any ideas about changing to the metric system for a while.
I do prefer the metric system but we do use both of them at the same time. For example, I use the lbs and feet for weight and height but on the other hand, I only use km for distance. I live in a world where the two systems live in harmony...

Well they should have just joined with the rest of the World when they had the chance, but I can see why they didn't. Thanks to that I have some stupid hybrid unit of measurement now. Oh well, thanks America :P
Because I'm mexican I always use the metric system, and I didn't bother learning imperial back in school, I mean, who uses that besides the USA and UK?
