Im 18, and I am moving to California in a couple days to live with my dad until I am able to get on my feet, but I have heard that apartments are outrageous! And housing is insane, I love california and I would love to live there, but im scared I won't be able to make it. And I have no special education all I have is my high school diploma, so I am not gonna find a great job.

Then why are you moving to California? If it's too expensive why move there, i see people complain but they still move there, even tho they know it's too expensive.

Not impossible. But expensive. You'll need a very good job.

WHy do you think I still live with my mother? IT's because Cali is very expensive. It's true that it's not impossible to live in california but it will be financially hard if you're not in the right circumstances.

it all depends on where you wanna live. If you want a nice place in a nice area then expect to pay alot. If you can deal with stuff, and not likely to get messed with you can find very cheap places that aren't 1/2 bad... just in rough neighborhoods. As far as jobs it really depends on the area you're looking in, but there's normally a ton of entry level service jobs that can't be filled by mexicans. Bars tend to make the most but also tend to be a bit superficial when hiring.

Try living in New York City, the largest, most expensive city in America and 3rd largest in the World.

My rent is $2300 a month, excluding utilities....hey its a nice 3 bedroom Apartment. I share with 2 best friends of mine, we all have Bachelor's Degrees, have decent White Collar jobs, but 3 of us have a 2nd job at night. I wait tables at a French restaurant (good tips), one works at his parent's Pizza shop, and the other works as Bartender. Plus, we have college loans to be paid off.

Life sucks, I know. But that's the price of living in the real world:cry:

Yet we still have time to play videogames and get laid :D

It's possible, but very difficult if you don't have a good paying job.

Then why move their if you have a feeling you're going to have a ***** of a time there? Why not continue in your studies first? Maybe get a job where you live currently to pay your way through.

Save up for a farm, buy a farm, and then grow your own food and you will be totally on your own.
