In a disaster scenario

Whether zombies, earthquake, tsunami, tornado, you know, something large scale

Would you stop to save those in need, or would you just watch out for yoruself and those closest to you (family, close relatives, etc.)?

Myself and close family and friends. It's not my job to protect everyone else, that's their business. I'm sure I'll have enough to worry about as it is....

If everyone protects their close family and friends, then everyone would (hypothetically of course) be protected. If everyone tries to protect only those in "need", then you're only protecting a specific group of people, and everyone would die since the people helping the "needy" wouldn't be protected, and therefore the "needy" wouldn't have anyone to help them. They are in need after all.

That's just a little theory I came up with. :P Maybe it doesn't make sense but that's ok.

Well, it would really depend on the type of scenario. I never know what to say or do around people in need so I'd be pretty awkward about it. :S

I'd help those I can. The more you help, the larger your group. The larger your group, the more people you have to fight with you. I would help people out, but if things got to drastic, I escape I have to look out for my own team first.

If I can help I will, but if it looks impossible to save them then I wont bother

My thinking is this...I can't rescue peoples' asses if I get myself killed.

First you run like hell and save yourself. Then after the dust settles, you go back and try to help any survivors.

if I can help those in need, I will do so as far as I am capable, provided it doesnt endanger myself and those around me

I'd put the safety and survival of my loved ones and mine first, but if I came across a complete stranger who needed my help and I knew I didn't put myself in harm's way by helping him or her, I guess lending a hand would be the only logical thing I could do.

I'd just help myself.

from the fact that im 10000 miles away from my family, yep, i would do the same thing also
