I'm getting a new phone tomorrow, but torn between these! what are some of the pros and cons in both phones that the gamespot community has come across? :)

iPhones sucks so much! Don't get one because they are very limited on what you can do with them. Android is a much better operating system which provides much more customisation options and better user interface.
[QUOTE="mems_1224"][QUOTE="Ackad"] Pretty much this, I've had the SG2 and the nexus. Super slow and freezes all the timeAckadi went from a 4s to a skyrocket to a lumia. iphone wins While they are good phones, the iphone itself is extremely quick and straight forward. Android fanboys are constantly praising their phones because of "custom interfaces." Other than changing widgets and skin tones, that's pretty much it. iphone and skyrocket are good.....lumia is a steaming turd

Iphone imo, much better community and interface for buying apps and music. Everything is easier with Iphone. For me, it has all the features I need and even more, people saying IOS is limited are basing thier facts way back when Jobs was alive and Bill Gates had hair on his head.

This. The Galaxy Nexus is the best Android out now. You can't go wrong with it. iPhone 4S is the same as the iPhone 4, just more megapixels to its camera..... Go Android and you won't regret it.

Funny you say that because I went with android. The Nexus and SG2, went back to Iphone :\ Same, but I had the SG2. It was a decent phone but the 4s trumps over it.Funny you say that because I went with android. The Nexus and SG2, went back to Iphone :\Ackad
Too bad. Awesome phones Androids are. I guess it all comes down to preference :/
Also iPhone is easier to use....
Do you really believe that? Please re-word whenever you get the chance. I went back to the iphone after owning both. While I do agree that android phones get updates instantly, that's not a good reasonAckadI've used both and prefer the openness of the Android platform. It doesn't help my phone is sh!t and chugs and locks up far too often for it's own good (I think I got the last of the single-core platforms, ugh). The iPhone has the convenience of not being complicated and user friendly... but that is exactly why MAC owners will tell you why their computers are better than a Windows- or Linux-based PC. Many people (which I think is evidenced by the popularity of Windows) prefer the ability to customize their workspace and allowed the freedom to run what they want. It's why I went with Android... I was looking for the Windows-equivalent in a cellphone (not Microsoft's attempt at making a MAC equivalent, lol). The speed at which my GF gets her updates is mind-boggling. The only reason she didn't get Ice Cream Sandwich a couple months ago is because there was some battery over-use problems. It is an OUTSTANDING firmware platform, and honestly makes iOS look like sh!t. But no one would know that, because only a tiny fraction of devices actually get it.
I think the reasons for owning an iPhone surpass just about any phone for the simple fact that apple believes in vertical integration. You aren't going to find the same support or quality with another phone that has what the iPhone does. They got a jump on the market and made a phone that just about anyone could use with a market of over a jabillion apps. They drop a new one every year or so and these installments keep the thing ticking and speeding along with any competitors.
It comes down to support for me, and apple's support for it's product is really hard to beat.
Android is a good competitor for apple, but it's interface is built for use on a hundred phones versus a small amount. Integration by sheer logic is harder to set up and capitalize on when you have that many devices trying to run it.
Let me start of by saying i am COMPLETLY UN BIASED! ok now that that is out of the way i can honestly say both phones are amazing. It really just depends on your prefrence though. If you want many apps with a lot of simplicity with a smaller screen go for the iphone 4s. It is an amazing phone. If you want a phone with bigger screen and far more custimization options then go with the galaxy nexus. As of now i own a galaxy nexus and i love it a lot. My main advice to you though is if you are going to get a galaxy nexus id reccommend rooting it. Truth be told battery live on it is horrid but after rooting it i have easily 20 + hours. The iphone 4s also had battery problems when first released but if im correct then im sure they fixed that issue. This problem already came up in this thread but the iphone 4s does have a better camera then the galaxy nexus but keep in mind that pixles arent everything. The galaxy nexus does have a 5 mp camera but that thing is really amazing to tell you the truth. At times you wont believe that its only 5 mp. Anyways like i said if you want a lot of apps go for the iphone and if you want to customize go with the galaxy nexus thats really all it comes down to.
Don't listen to the iPhone haters, get an iPhone 4s and jailbreak it. The possiblities are endless
c0kemusheen
err im really not bashing the iphone at all but when you jailbreak it its really to do on your iphone what you can already do on an android phone. Essientally you jailbreak it to be more like android in a way. Thats why i dont really like that argument at all it just comes down to apps if you want the iphone.
im thinking of getting a galaxy s II(or III depending on the reviews next year) I wouldnt mind getting a 64gb iphone but its too expensive for me

Id say wait for the gs3 to come out. More then likely the reviews will be amazing and if it has a micro sd slot you can just up the storage that way.
galaxy s 2 is better than both... but u should wait because rumors are galaxy s 3 is around the corner and will destroy all phonescampzor
appearntly the bench mark is out for it and it totally sh*ts on anything out there haha
SH.ITS on BOTH !!!
Jst Joking. Galaxy and iPhone are great, but once I started using the Windows Phone, I ain't never going back. It does lots of things heaps better than Android and Apple.

Well to be honest, the Zune was an awesome music player, as is the iPod, it was just marketed wrong. I can't fault the iPod though. But in this case, some things are done better in WP than Android and Apple (I repeat, some things).I have a Crackberry and it bites, lol.AllicrombieI had a blackberry for like 3.5 years, but it finally just fried one night when I was talking to a buddy on the phone. I started hearing some buzzing, all all of a sudden, my phone turned completely off, and upon restarting, all I got was a bright white screen. I dunno, I would be all for the iPhone, but at this point, every one has one. On the other hand, some of Androids stuff is kind of messed up, not all applications are there day one, ect.

im sure it will have a micro sd. its a shame it doesnt support those 64gb sd card. that would be great for meThe current versions of the iPhone are well refined and work great. My wife has a galaxy 2 and I have the iPhone 4s(which I love). The only thing I like better about her phone is that it's WAY easier to transfer music and movies from your pc to the phone; just drag and drop. With the iPhone you have to use iTunes and also convert your movies which is a hassle. Other than that the iPhone is much nicer.
Overall I'd say get the iPhone if you don't mind the hassel of transferring stuff. I would add that you should wait for the iPhone 5 if you can.
