At our school's parking lot, there aren't really assigned spots, but people usually stay in the same spots. For a complicated reason, I decide to change spots. I hear that some kids are getting annoyed at how I am parking in their zone, and a week later, my friends tell me that my car is scratched! I'm in a zone of about 4-5 cars, and I know 2 people didn't do it, and I know 2 who could have. After some investigating, I can easily narrow it down to one person. The scratch isn't bad at all, and I would have NEVER even have noticed it(the aged car has had previous scratches before, not from me) if my friends hadn't told me, but it's still a noticeable long scratch.
Should I just confront the kid tomorrow and talk to him about it(saying first that I won't report him(of course I won't commit to this) and talk to him about it(he say sorry and we forget it)? Or should I gather indisputable evidence(like witnesses) and get him expelled? I mean hey I'm not happy that he did it, and IcCan change spots, but I don't want some kid getting away with this. I don't want to make this very complicated and make it a public incident(with the school) where everyone keeps asking me about it and why I made it into such a big deal and everything. I could just ask the school to make up that there was a witness at the scene(when there really wasn't) to put the blame on someone else so it won't look like I was the one who made it into a big deal.
