Been playing on IMDB. Add any if you know of any more! I for one....LOVE sequels. It's always exciting to see that characters and stories I love are being continued. Hundreds of people that are passionate about these things work their butts off to make these, so it's sad to see people baselessly bashing them because they're 'not the original'. A lot of people say they just get tired of the same thing, and I understand for the same movie, seeing that over and over, but regardless if they're comparable, they aren't the same. And 3? 5? 10? Even by then it's not that repetitive... it's only a few.

Only time I don't like them is B-Grades where a cheap studio bought the name and don't care about it. Here goes.

Ring 3

Grudge 3

Jurassic Park 4

Transformers 2

Saw 5

Saw 6

Saw 7 (if the other two go well, according to Lionsgate)

Madagascar 2

Final Destination 4

Crank 2: High Voltage

Night at the Museum 2

Toy Story 3

Sin City 2

Sin City 3

Shrek Goes Fourth

Fast and the Furious 4

Silent Hill 2 (being written, but in limbo otherwise)

Spiderman 4

Bourne 4 (Damon said if the script is okay he'll do another)

Still Waiting...

The Brazilian Job

Mortal Kombat 3: Devastation

Mummy 3

All in all....I'm most excited about Ring, Grudge, Saw, Mummy, Silent Hill and Final Destination. But I'll pay to see each and every one of them, and welcome many more :) So far, undisappointed by the movie industry.

Updated again. Not gonna worry about ones that everyone already knows about like Dark Knight and Indiana Jones.

And gee Mike, thanks for the input, these boards don't have enough personal attacks with no contribution as it is. Great post.

No one see these movies, we could live without them, and don't give them the illusion that they should make another by giving them money.

Ring 3

Grudge 3

Spiderman 4

The Brazilian Job (skeptical, italian job was good.)

Fast and the Furious 4

Toy Story 3?!?! WHAT? They are so going to ruin my childhood memories...

Shrek has gotten better and better, but a 4th seems like too much.

Saw is going for seven movies? Did anyone see the fourth? How the hell are they going to go on from there?

TC Wrote: so it's sad to see people baselessly bashing them because they're 'not the original'.

Yes it is, and what's even more sad is when people slap a name on something and screw up the story any way they want either to appeal to a broader audience, cut time (book to movie adaptations like to do this, if not butcher it completely), or when directors like to "put it in their vision" and screw it up for everyone.

Also, most in the movie industry tend to ignore feedback too. So I'm very very skeptical about sequels.

Slap a name on something? Can you really sum up all the work that is behind these $100,000,000 films with "slapping a name on something and 'screwing up the story'"?

Ouch.

But well, yeah. I haven't been let down by a book-to-movie yet, I'm actually hoping I'll get movies of the other Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy Books :)

Resident Evil.

I Am Legend.

any more? I don't want to come off as rude, but this crap happens in almost every form of media there is, games, movies, comics, books, whatever.

It's just a popular trend for sequels, that's all.

hitchhikers guide had elements from the first three books in it. plus, i wouldn't trust anyone else to write a script for a sequal other than douglas adams. and he's dead.

Mortal Kombat 3? Hell, their philososphy probably went something like: "Well guys...it couldn't possible be worse than Annihilation, am I right?""

Transformers 2

Final Destination 4

Night at the Museum 2

Bourne 4 (Damon said if the script is okay he'll do another)

The Brazilian Job

OfficialJab

Looking forward to these ones. I was a big fan of the first 2 Jurassic Park movies but the 3rd one IMO was crap. Also they shouldn't make another Spiderman movie because the last one wasn't that successful and they sort of tied of the series anyway. If they're going to make another Spiderman they might as well make another X-Men too. And one after that. And one after that.

Good thing we have your perfect judgement to tell us these things

So....also to whoever was saying that they may as well keep making X-Men's.....

heh....

Magneto and Wolverine are both getting their own spinoffs.... so they're not done yet. I'm very excited for the Magneto one, I don't really like Wolverine.

And as for the Spiderman 4, it's being written I guess, but so far no one from the first three are signed on yet. I don't really like Toby McGuire...he's not good at acting tough. Or good at dancing.... :( I just want to see Carnage.

Did you see the clip after the end credits on the last one? With what you just said, it definetly hints that this is confirmed.
After the credits, it shows Magneto at a chess tournament where a bunch of old guys are, and he aims his hand at a chess piece, and then it wiggles a little bit....then it ends... that should be as little spoilerific-ness as I can give.
Why are they making The Ring 3? The second one was garbage. The Saw series is now garbage and should've stopped after 2. The Brazillian Job is the only one I'm looking forward too.

Also, where's Dark Knight and Indiana Jones?

Certainly seeing Toy Story 3

Saw 7 is a little too much though.

Most of the things on the list look like mindless milking of the series.

How much can you do the saw movies?

Well I saw a lot of the senseless sequel bashing I expected, but I'm glad some people are finding something to get excited about.
