I took half a highschool course in it, we basically copied out documents properly, wrote 'letters' properly, etc. not sure what jobs are available though.

I dunno to be honest but a lot of people told me the jobs you can get after taking up IT aren't that good. I could be wrong though.

IT = information technology. its basically anything to do with computers (managing data in particular). i dont know exactly what kinds of degrees you can get for it, but IT jobs include computer programming, systems management, data management, engineering hardware, etc.

i heard that too, mainly because they will overwork you (why hire two computer guys when the one we have can do it all already?) and the pay isnt great (you usually start at $40k-$50k). its still something i wanna do since i probably wont have to deal with people much and its pretty interesting stuff to me.

The theory ? Great stuff for tech types, great jobs since it's a new market, la creme de la creme I mean like, you ARE the Supa Tech Supa Cyber guy. The truth ? Boring pointless courses, crap jobs that will have you decide whether u wants a well paid job where u give up your personal life and your basic human rights OR a badly paid job where u only give up half of your personal life and basic human rights, and the amrket is already so filled up with it u'll soon have a better time finding a job as a friggin lawyer.

Anyway, my sincere advice is forget about all that crap and see the light, and seeing the light is saying suck it to all this modern world no individual rights crap and just live happy as a professional unemployed person or better yet, suck all that and just find yourself a humble, simple cool life in some backwards country with no technology and no political bs.

You can't do any of that with an IT qualification, for that you need a computing qualification. IT allows you to take admin jobs easyer and supports an english qualification.

your best bet is to talk to a college about it. theres a number of career possibilities with an IT degree, depending on what type it is. network admin, computer forensics, network security, helpdesk techician/manager, and many more. all depends on the school and the program. (i have information technology: network administration and information technology: computer forensics and network security degrees so i know what im talking about)

It's an underated job. Under-rated by management anyway. Without tech guys there is no chance of the company running. If you're all about the money, however, go into acturial science. Dreadfully boring but it pays well.
