In less than a year and half I've been to the hospital 3 times!!! First was in Feb '06 for an operation coz the anterior cruciate ligament(first two paragraphs)in myright leg tore during a bball match. I had to do 9 months of physiotherapy before resuming bball, but waited a year in order to really get into shape.
On resuming (it wasa Monday)bball I realised that I had to touch up on my skills (missed a dunk during practice and took about 30 shots to score 10 3-pointers). On Wed I had gym ****and we started a little sporadic mini-game wereI twisted my left kneewhen I halted abruptly. Yup this time it was my left knee that felt the pain! Unfortunately it was the same case as my right knee so we booked the operation for July '07. Coz of this I couldn't go to Lyon (France) and Munich as I had planned!
Anyways, one week before my operation (it was the same day that Harry Potter 5 came out), my lung failed me and I experienced what what we call a pneumothorax (see signs and symptoms). You feel like you've got boulders piling up in your chest and in silence you can here a distinguished ticking noise coming from your chest... the scariest part is that you have the feeling that your about to die... Scared the hell out of me but I made it through with 3 days of oxygen therapy.
The operation the next week went well, the nurses were cool, the food was nice but damn it's bloody annoying not being able to utilise your sporting talents and dwelling on your past sport achievements (MVP, Most Improved Player, Best Athlete...etc). I started walking at around 8 months, I had to learn how to walk again in Feb 06 and now i'm at my third attempt... who knows what might hit me next.
Please do share your personal experiences. Btw have any of you sent someone of to hospital for a certain reason?
