I would expect it to be released around June/July. It will almost certainly include the new 'A5' chip, a redesign and I really can't think of much else. Oh wait, a white version.
It will probably be another version of the iPhone 4 (iPhone 4GS, like the iPhone 3GS). More than likely, the major improvement will be the speed. They will put their new chip in it. Apart from that, rumors are just that it will probably be smaller and the screen will be bigger. Maybe better cameras. But that is really it.
Are they seriously gonna release a new phone just a year after iphone 4? Most people are on 100-year contracts for those things... I guess the scheme is to get people to endlessly renew their phones and their contracts before they expire.

Haven't you realized they have been coming out with a new phone every year... And also the contracts are only two years. Lastly, if you get an iphone the contract is only one year if you decide to upgrade to the new iphone.
Possibly, a couple versions with different screens sizes. 3.5, 3.7, and 4 inches. And the new A5 chipset, which is actually very impressive. It's destroying the Tegra 2 in benchmarks. Probably 4G. Maybe more RAM. Who else thinks they're gonna call it the iPhone 4G?

actually it will be a true iphone 5, the one thing engadget has confirmed is a 4 inch screen instead of the current 3.5 and most likely will be 4G LTE compatible. so yes it will be a true iPhone 5
I think iphone3 came out in 2007/2008 and 4 in 2010. Also everywhere I look, they're 3 year contracts.

iphone-2007 iphone 3g-2008 iphone 3gs-2009 iphone 4-2010 iphone 5-2011 AT&T and verizon have TWO year contracts. and do you realize there is a new android phone from different manufactures ever 4 months or so. samsung released the galaxy s phones back in september and already have the galaxy s 4G out and the galaxy s 2 coming out within the next month.

it wont. sprint has no interest in the iPhone with the evo, epic, and evo shift being their flagships Iphone could still bring a lot of customers to sprint, Execs at apple have been hinting about it not being exclusive to at&t and verizon, and we all know it isn't going to t-mobile..

nope, engadget and gizmodo and all the tech blogs are saying a full fledged iPhone 5. it wont be a 4GS or whatever they decide to call it, itll just be 5
I doubt there'll be a new iPhone 5 this year to be honest. They did the iPhone, the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS before they finally revised it and did a whole new model outright. The iPhone 4 is still pretty new. It has a few minor internal updates to go through before they re-design the thing.
It can't be anything too drastic. 1. Camera Improvements 2. Aesthetic differences 3. Speed improvements 4. More vibrant screen 5. 4G ... stuff like that.
