iPhone 8gb price in USA without CONTRACT??

i have a USA citizen friend and he'll buy me the new 3gs,so whats the price? without contract

It's $200 with a two year contract for a 16GB, but the AT&T site doesn't have a no contract or 8GB price.

I believe that AT&T and Apple signed a contract where AT&T gave Apple something or helped them, and Apple was only allowed to put the iPhone on AT&T, so I don't think that you can get it without contract. Even if you could, you wouldn't be able to put it ona different carrier, as AT&T is the only one that uses SIM cards.
