Alot of people are saying that the iPhone going to Verizon will eventually push Android out of the phone business. I personally hope it doesnt. What do you think?

Androids will replace us all, so my answer is no.

I don't think so. I heard that when the iPhone goes to Verizon, many AT&T users will switch over to Verizon.

I really doubt it. There will be more competition, but it won't be enough to kill the Android.

There's gonna be competition, which will drive Google, Apple, and the manufacturers to do better. It's a good thing in my opinion. It won't kill Android. I know many VZ users that went with an Android device because there was no iPhone, and now that it is coming, they say they want to stick with Android. If it wasn't for AT&T's Android lineup this year, I'd say it would be the death of them.

I doubt it. Android is a platform that is on many phones while the iOS is only on the iPhone.

Agreed. I really hope it does force companies make better phones even quicker than they are now. I can only imagine what the future holds for cell phones, they have advanced is such little time its quite amazing.

No, Android will dominate all of the competition eventually, with my full support behind them.

I don't think it'll be as big of a deal as people have been making it out to be. In short, no.

The Android phones haven't been killed countries where you can pick dozens of iPhone providers, so I don't see why bringing the grand total in the USA up to 2 would be any different.

Not at all.

In fact, this will do great things for the Android platform in the long run. Healthy competition is a great thing. ;)

Sounds like fear mongering. Android is here and it's going to stay. Google's behind it for god's sakes. It's not going anywhere. I just bought a new MP3 player that comes with Android, and I can't wait to start tinkering around with it!

I say no, I and I base that conclusion entirely on the fact that I don't particularly like the iPhone.
