it'll probably sell well just because it's made by apple and it'll remind people of an iPod
as for myself.. i think it's awesome
pshhh... any company can make ONE good phone and not make others... I'm not impressed.  Like, what if Sony Ericsson, Samsung or Nokia, only spent there time making one phone? and in this case, money isn't a problem. Remember, Samsung already has a 10 megapixel cellphone in Korea. (I think it's Korea btw)sh4d0wc4st3rThis is their first venture into the cell phone business..and its still better than any of those other brands you listed. And a 10 mp camera on a phone? link.

All cellphone cameras are garbage. The sensor may indeed be whatever number of megapixels, but the quality you're going to get will never equal the cheapest of digital cameras rated at the same resolution.

Its still going to take crap pictures. You can have a huge pixel count but if you have a crappy sensor (you bet the sensor is a piece of crap on a phone) it won't make the picture any better. Sure it'll be a little nicer, but it won't be anywhere near as good as the quality as the real camera's with 10MP i.e. - SLRs.
I have an mp3 player, I have a cell phone, and I don't require myself to be connected to the internet wherever I go. This is the stupidest $500 a person could spend. Unless, of course, they just crawled out from underneath a rock.FragStains

featuring the Samsung SCH-B600
edit:Â turns out that Samsung one has satelite TV and TV-Out ports...
No matter what the naysayers think, it will surely sell alot.
BTW, will there be any more new generations in the Ipod line ?

Seriously. Watch. They're going to make a video game console and call it the iBall.
As for the hardware, it seems like a pretty cool phone if money isn't significant. It'd be even cooler if/when they open it up to third-party app development.
However, many of the iphone advertisements (and there are a lot) come across as extremely oversimplifying and kinda condescending. "Wow, I can finally get email on my phone! And look at maps! And listen to music!" ... none of these features are cutting edge, and none were pioneered with the phone. The touch-screen interface was new (as far as I know), so it's fine to go all-out marketing that, but I feel like they take credit for too much.
