Where are some good places to buy the replacement battery for 5g 30 gb ipods? Is it safe to install it yourself? Have you done it?

not that i know of.  its not easy to just open up an ipod and replace the battery.  i guess you can go to the apple store and see what they can do.  it might cost alot though.

If you still have your warranty (if it hasn't been a year since you got it), I think it costs $50 bucks to get apple to replace your battery if you send it back.  But there are plenty of instructions online, and plenty of videos on youtube that guide you through the process of replacing it yourself.  And yes, ebay would be the place to get a new battery.

If it's still under its warrenty, doing it yourself will make it defunked. If you can, try shipping it off to Apple. I'm sure they have a service for it.
