Let me say this first. I have no tiffs with Apple. I don't use a Mac because I like PC's more, not because I think Steve Jobs is after world domination. I'm not biased against the iPod brand, I'm just looking for the best item for my money. Kay.

The 30GB iPod Classic (do they still sell that?). Great capacity, apparently improved battery life, and I already use iTunes to listen to music. Syncing would be most convenient. But I'm told the battery life is still nothing to brag about.

The Zune has come a long way, or so I've been told. I think it's priced the same as the classic. Does it have any other features and how is the Zune software?

I'm not so sure about the iPod Touch. Seems like a waste of money for a touch screen, internet, and apps when I get a smaller capacity capacity, worse battery, and even more fragile iPod.

no they dont make a 30 gb classic just 80 and 160 and the touch isnt a waste of money, i get about the same amount of battery as my dads video and mine seems to be indestructible seeing as ive dropped it several times, and if you want more space get the 32 gb. also if you jailbreak it you have access to all sorts of cool apps for free

also they dont sell the zune 30 anymore just the 80s, 8s, and 4s.

The Zune, by a wide margin. Here is a nice comparison, even if it is from a Zune site: http://www.zunescene.com/comparison/

I have a CFW PSP too but there arent too good homebrew for it. The browser is slow. No good IM. But it really depends. If you have lots of music go with the ipod or zune but if you dont have to much music and like to watch some videos, possibly some online stuff like IM or browsing get the Touch. Plus you can control iTunes with the Touch

Nope. With the Zune all you have to do is drag and drop stuff into your device. But you have to add stuff to a playlist and sync that list to the iPod.

If you only have 1.5 GB then I really suggest the 8GB iPod Touch.

You will be able to get applications on the touch, and that right there is reason enough to buy it!:P

Then you would know that you don't have to sync anything to the ipod if you don't want to. All you have to do is choose to manually manage your songs and everything becomes cake.

You can drag and drop stuff into your iPod if you so please.

Well, how much space do you need? Are you planning to use the player a lot for movies too or just music? And what about your budget? 80Gb Classic should be a lot cheaper than 30Gb Touch.

Ipod Classic. My first MP3 player was a 30GB classic, which I bought 2 years ago. I just purchased an 80GB Classic for college.

I'm really on the line between the iPod and Zune. The Zune has a bigger screen and seems nice but has a significantly lower battery life. I just don't know. Plus Zune can't be used as a hd.

I like Zunes simply because it has a bigger screen, it has better video quality, and you can share music and pictures with your friends wirelessly.

I love my 80 gb Zune. I love the picture and music sharing capabilities as well as my FM reciever and equalizer being built in.

Plus you can order them with really neat artwork and custom phrases on the back.

Either the iPod classic or Zune. I cant say about the iPod cause i dont have one, but i have a Zune 80 and love it. The software is awesome after the last update, the menu system is borderline perfect, and it's very well made.

I wouldnt go with the touch when you can get a normy iPod with way more memory for less money.

The zune does have better sound, which would only really be noticable with high end headphone, and has an equilizer and fm tuner. but what it really comes down to is what youre more comfortable using, take a few minutes to play around with both at best buy or something.

I've never liked Apple or iPods, but I ended up getting an 80GB classic. It's the best bang for your buck IMO, you get 80GB for just a little more than a 16GB flash player. The sound quality isn't the greatest (although it's definitely not bad), but it allows me to use a variety of programs to synch (most notably MediaMonkey), and it comes with just about every feature (except FM radio :x), looks sleek, and has great battery life. The Zune has the best sound quality out of those, and it comes with a decent pair of earbuds, but I don't like the software you have to use. The Touch is just a watered down iPhone, I would't get it personally.

I'm telling you. The Zune is a lot better. Especially the software (really simple, easy to use) and menu.
