I've had my iPod for a while, but I never have really known...which direction are the SUPPOSED to go into your ears?

L = Left, R = Right. Simple, really... IDK what you mean exactly, so I guessed. :?

Well, like I said, I've had my iPod for a while and they don't have the L and R markings like the newer ones.

Uh, there's an L on one for Left, an R on the other for Right. Rocket science I know.

the grey metal part goes towards your head into you hear...

was that it?

edit:
do this, plug it in the pc and while playing a sound in winamp switch the sound all to one side, then mark somehow that side ^^
