Quality of sound is same as other iPods. But don't get one just to listen to music.
If you're a gadget whore like me then you'll love it with the January update. But if you just want to listen to music get a classic or nano, since they'll have more memory or the same amount of memory for less money.
My friend adores his, but I don't find it has nearly enough storage space...
I'm good with my 2005 iPod picture ^.^
Still got my 80 gig classic form last generation. It fell and broke in half. I slammed it back togethor and it still works. I wonder if the new ones can do that.My friend adores his, but I don't find it has nearly enough storage space...

I'm thinking you should buy a Zune.DJ-PRIME90
I concur with this statement. Zune Pass is better than paying per song.
If you don't need more than 16 gigs, I can't imagine anything better. I've had mine since it was released, and I couldn't be happier.Ryeferd
Seems about right. If you have a music library larger than 16gb, get a classic. But if you have less than that, get a touch. And if you don't plan on watching videos, get a nano. I am aware than the new nanos can play videos, but come on, no one wants to strain their eyes watching movies on a one inch screen.
Me, I have a lot of music and I'm fine with my 5g 30gb video.

my sister just got one of the new nanos. I certainly wouldn't want to watch a full length movie on it, but the screen is a lot bigger than I thought it would be.

Nano screen is 1.5 inches, classic 2.5 inches and Touch 3.5 inches.[QUOTE="HybridPhoenix"]Still got my 80 gig classic form last generation. It fell and broke in half. haha, exactly, the old ones are pro, they never really break

:| Why do people support the big nonsense brick that is the ZUNE??
Seriously either get the Touch for the other features, or for cheaper similar alternatives the Creative ZEN 8GB (with extra SD Card slot) or the Samsung P2 are good cheaper alternatives. The Zune pales in comparison to them, I swear people buy the Zune because of the MS brand.
I swear people buy the Zune because of the MS brand.HoobinatorThey buy them because Apple is "cool". They like to go against the grain.
That's why it's a choice. You can say no. When was the last time a company released such a huge update for an MP3 player for free? Anyway, does anyone know how to convert videos into a format that the Touch can play? Only my music videos bought from the iTunes store work.paying £13 for a upgrade????
No Thanks Apple.

You have to convert it to MP4.
Try this.

How can I do that? All the software I've seen is for Windows or at a price. v_v[QUOTE="sammyjenkis898"][QUOTE="SolidSnake35"][QUOTE="rastaman219"]That's why it's a choice. You can say no. I just got a macbook and I haven't converted any videos for my ipod yet..
I hear they break easily.kulmiye
Where'd you hear that? I've had mine since the day it came out and it still works perfectly. Also, the screen is reeeeeeally hard to scratch cus it's glass
I came very close to buying one at christmas time. Ive decided to leave it for now...
my zen is more than good enough for now and as good as the touch looks I still cant justify the price. The 16gb is low concidering that screen is meant ofr videos aswell. Im gonna bide my time until either a 32 GB comes along.
That being said there are some good phones coming out which are obviously modelled on the touch but better. Have a look at the samsung f700...
[QUOTE="SolidSnake35"]How can I do that? All the software I've seen is for Windows or at a price. v_vhorgen123If you can get your videoes into iTunes you can use iTunes to convert it for iPod. But iTunes uses a long time so I suggest not to do it that way. I didn't know you could do that. Awesome, thanks. ^_^

Yeah, it was hardly lighting quick but it's easy and better than nothing. Also, it means I don't need software just for converting.

i got a 6th gen classic, iv had it for a month and have already filled up more than the 16gb touch can hold. So if you have a ton stuff go with something bigger in size and cost less.
