So this is going down right now, the U.S. is pissed that Iran tried to assassinate a Saudi envoy, and Iran is going to spin the U.S.'s actions against it, propelling us closer, and possibly to, a moderate-scale showdown. Now I say moderate scale because their nukes are poop, and Israel is right around the corner ready to go commando on their asses, and we also have Turkey right over there who is all ready to go co-commando on their ass. So even so, we will surely get some U.S. soldiers or missiles there either way, so it'll be a big catastrophe. Thoughts?

Who cares about Iran? They are just a bunch of uncivilised barbarians who live in oil mansion tyrants and stone women to death because they go outside without a male guardian. They are also anti semites and want to kill the Jews. This is going to get pretty bloody....But why did they tryto assassinate a Saudi? I thought they were allies (to a point anyway).

It's suspicious the U.S. government arrested this guy a month ago and are now just telling us. I find the timing odd.

Has it actually been proven that Iran had anything to do with it? Or are we just going on whatever the American government are suggesting? Hang on a second,. even if Iran were involved...what does this have to do with the United States? It's the Saudis problem, not theirs.

Ahmadinejad is like that one weak 8th grader who wants to make an impression so decides to pick a fight with the 12th grader who spends half his income on weightlifting items and knives. I feel bad for those living in Iran, hopefully nothing comes of this.

The people in Iran are good people.

There are good Iranian people there, definately. I forget which area, but Iran is divided between west Iran and East Iran. And one of the areas is just like it is in the western world where the other area is run by muslim radicals and they are dangerous.

EDIT: Mabey it's northern Iran and Southern Iran, I don't remember.

That going to war would be the worst idea imaginable with how the economy is and should be avoided at all costs.

Nah dude. Forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran and ships sitting off Somalia is totally awesome and protecting freedoms or some such. Economy crumbling at home? No problem! Invade another country.

Huh? This sort of stuff always comes out to the public after arrests were made. Even with him in custody they would still be doing investigations that would most definitely require keeping this behind closed doors until they knew they could tell the world without jeopardizing ruining the case or catching other possible suspects.

The guy they caught was a used cars salesmen who spilled the beans instantly.

Holder is in trouble with the Fast and Furious program so he announces this capture now. The guy they caught has been sitting in a public prison for a month not some top secret CIA detention facility.

Holder is using this as a diversion.

Yeah, definitively. The entire administration and justice/defense department are doing all this just to help Holder.

1) I doubt they would lie... Whistle blowing, etc will always get the truth out and no one wants to be caught in that political poopstorm when it happens...

2) What would be the point of lying? Iran already looks like a douchebag to most of the world... Look at the Ahmedinejad's recent UN speech and all previous ones... Almost everyone excluding like Lebanon walk out of it... And half the delegates don't come anyways... Not to mention Iran is already sanctioned to hell and back...

3) And what does it have to do with the US? One: The assassination was planned to take place in the United States... Two: The method planned was to detonate a bomb in a DC restaurant while the Saudi Ambassador was there...

OP I think you need to watch this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7outq9ebuck It might shed some light on why the story is very fishy and shouldn't be suddenly trusted.

Holder held off the announcement of this for a month on purpose to help himself as a distraction. He's about to get subpoenaed by Congress and possibly charged with lying to Congress.

So he foresaw himself possibly being subpoenaed a month after the arrest and so he held off telling the general public just in case?

Look at the video the other poster posted. This whole thing is fishy as hell. Then the timing is meant to distract Congress from subpoenaing Holder and possibly charging him with lying to Congress (a felony).

Wasn't this the same as this one? If so, my opinion still stands, pointless and is of no concern to Saudi Arabia's public. Everyone in my street thinks it's fabricated, as is in most online sites as well.

I saw that, sad part is he is right. It seems to.........Hollywoodish to seem true. I suspect some truths are being stretched quite a bit in this whole story.

I don't understand what Iran would achieve from this assassination. I think this is just an attempt to further malign Iran and impose more sanctions on them.

I know they are heavy liberals but for the most part they give consideration to the other sides. Like they may bash a corporation but they understand that the corporation is run by a profit motive so they don't lay all the fault on the corporation but also the politicians who were bribed in helping. They also don't try to pass themselves off as fair and "balanced" like Fox News. They explain that they have a liberal lean then give their opinion which may be a bit too heated.

Reminds me of a young OT me. Taking time to present both sides fairly and with consideration and such. Then it took too long to type those out. Being bias is much easier. Er yeah. Random thought of the day. TYT do raise some good points though in that video.

Harisemo

It's possible the Quds force may have wanted to do something like this since they are semi-rogue and not really under control by the Sureme Leader.

But then it turns out large sums of money were exchanged through U.S. banks (international funds in large amounts are instantly flagged and this is widely known). That's beyond a rookie mistake the Quds force would not have likely made. Then they supposedly hired a used car saleman from Texas. People who knew him said he was incompetent at everything he did. If the Quds force wanted to pull off something this large they would have used trained experts not a used car salesmen.

You also don't use the Mexican cartel for international espionage and assassination. If you want someone dead you use professionals.

On top of that the two people caught have been sitting in public jails awaiting trial and not some federal detention facility where you would keep legitimate spies and assassins.

It sounds like the government could have fabricated this entire thing down to providing the bait (money).
