These are both amazing metal bands and i love both of them and most metal fans love both of them as well. But which one do you like more? Iron Maiden or Metallica? For me i would say Metallica cause I've known them longer than i have know Iron Maiden and i find more songs of metallica catchy. So choose which band you like better in the poll.

Iron Maiden because they were the first metal band i ever listened to, although now i like heavier stuff so Metallica seems more appealing.

Both are very commercial.

Iron Maiden. I don't really like Metallica that much, save for a couple albums. RtL mostly.

Saw Iron Maiden a few days ago... I like both bands but Pre-1995 Metallica... But Iron Maiden has kept there feeling for their music for a while now... That is why they rock! Haven't seen Metallica live but I personally don't like how they sound from what I seen... I am sure it's still an exhilarating show non the least.

What? Iron Maiden. No contest. Maiden has 12 good albums, and Metallica has 4.

Metallica by a long margin. I like thrash metal, and Bruce Dickinson's voice, while great, is not something I find pleasant.

Metallica's first four albums are good stuff, especially And Justice For All, and their self-titled fifth album isn't bad, but after that they get pretty bad. St. Anger is one of the worst CDs I've ever had the pleasure of owning. While Iron Maiden of course has some bad albums, they have way more stuff that I like.

I went to see them and Dream Theater in Auburn, WA and while the setlist consisted of maybe half old stuff and half newer stuff (and no Run to the Hills, WTF), I enjoyed most of it. If I went to a Metallica concert and they played half old stuff and half new stuff, I'd be groaning my way through half of the setlist except maybe All Nightmare Long.

They also don't have anything as fun to sing along live to as Iron Maiden, Running Free, The Number of the Beast, or Fear of the Dark.

All of this is just my opinion of course, but there you go.

You could argue the same for Maiden, in my opinion the only good album they've made since Seventh Son was Brave New World.

Dance of Death and A Matter of Life and Death are both quality albums...It's Virtual XI and The X Factor that suck.

I know what you meen... When I saw them on Sunday they didn't play Run to the Hills either. Also Dream Theater rocked as well. I made sure I came earlier just to see them open! =D

Yeah, I probably wouldn't like that album at all if These Colors Don't Run didn't have such a fun chorus to sing along to :P

Metallica for me. They're the band that got me into Metal. I also like the fact that they have the ability to move between Thrash, to Heavy Metal, to Rock and soft Ballads. They seem to be a band that isn't afraid to try something new, rather than pump out the same stuff every year.

Full respect to the Irons though, just not my thing.

Taking an unbiased approach considering I'm a huge Maiden fan, seen 'em live last night, was incredible, I'd still go with Maiden. Tons of quality material over an extensive career. Metallica on the other hand had like four good albums and some seriously ****** ones.

Metallica, I am more of a thrash fan although I love Maiden as well. I think ...And Justice For All may be my favorite album ever though. However I'll admit that they've made some utter garbage. I can fall asleep listening to Load and Reload.

Metallica hands down. Iron Maiden has always seem slightly overrated to me, and I only like a handful of their songs. With Metallica I love every song on every album up through Black Album.

You know nothing of Metal. Iron Maiden is Heavy Metal and Metallica is Thrash Metal. (well the last 3 albums were hard rock by metallica) You can't really compare em.

I've heard it.

It's not my favorite song of theirs, but there's a thing I like about it. One of my big problems with A Matter of Life and Death and Dance of Death is that the songs all basically follow the same format, soft intros that get much heavier before the chorus leading into false climaxes, so I was kind of worried that The Final Frontier would be nothing but soft intros fading into other soft intros, so it was nice to hear El Dorado kind of start out loud and fast. Not their best song by far, but not bad.

I may have to say Iron Maiden for this one. My first Maiden album was Piece of Mind, and I remember replaying Sun & Steel over and over again. Still my favorite album of theirs, but still went ahead and picked up Powerslave, another great album.

Iron Maiden, they're a classic. The '90s weren't theirs or Metallica's best years, but we can just ignore them. St. Anger was especially an example of what a thrash metal album should not be.

Metallica have: 2 great albums (RTL and MOP) one very one (AJFA) one pretty good one (KEA) 2 kinda decent albums (Metallica and DM) and three downright terrible albums. Maiden have...like, 2 albums that are just good, and an entire discography that ranges from very good to downright excellent ... Hmmm..... MAIDEN!
