Apparently you don't get the reference.
jeez i hope hilary or obama make the world a better place, USA is the central point of all the worldSS4EVGASM
Actually, that isnt part of the choice. In american politics, Hillary and Obama are pretty much the isolationists of modern politics, and the republicans maintain their expansionists/aggressive foreing politics. However in the past democrats use to have quite the aggressive foreign policy, what with proxy wars with russia and all...anyway.
Point is, Hillary or Obama want the US to *ignore* the rest of the world. So no, they wont. They'll just pack up our bases and give everyone the middle finger while the troops come home, and probably not just from iraq. I can imagine a sensationalist prick like Obama downsizing international bases like those in South Korea as well.

Yeah, they want the US to ignore the rest of the world, unlike Bush who hears the rest of the world and gives them the finger.
That's not irony. Sure it might some what affect the world(not really), but I know that it isn't even being mentioned here in Germany. Well...sure mentioned in the news a couple of times...but it is cared about here as much as the election of the new Russian prime minister would be in the US.Ilived
Actually, Russian elections get a *lot* of press in the US. We're talking entire segments dedicated to it on every news channel. The US has vested interests in countries we have tensions and past issues with. Everyones currently worried Russia will fall back into dictatorship and thrown back into conflict with the US.

ummm no? george bush was voted in and declared war on Iraq afterwards... it kinda goes with the job description that you are affecting others. Voters know that too..Premier1101
I guess who would expect 9/11? Even the CIA didn't see it coming. If I were voting back then, Bush may seem a good choice, since the world was as it is. If 9/11 did not happen, Bush will never have to flex that much of power in the M.East
Whats really ironic is that despite how influential our country is and how important the presidential elections... More people vote for American Idol than the do the President of the United States.... ironic and depressing.bluntmastaslaya
Any evidence?
Edit: Also not ironic, btw.

The real question is...Given the fact these people vote in American Idol at all....do you *want* them to vote in the presidential election? :P "Oh hillary has really nice hair, i'll vote for her!" "McCain's too old!"

there was an actual AP article about it but its no longer linked.
ok it might not be Ironic but is sure as hell disgusting.
Well not really, when was the last time an American president has any say in Europe for example?
He's the president of America and America alone,ok that makes him the most powerful man in the world seeing as the US is the most powerful country in the world, but that in no way means he has any power outside of US states,in terms of what goes on in outside country's.
Edit:I mean without a country's approval of course
I don't fully understand Irony so I cannot actually say whether or not it is ironic at all. Also I don't know much about politics as well. :|
No, ironic would be if Person A told person B that they would turn into a carrot if they kept eating carrots and then suddenly Person A turned into a carrot.MattUD1
:P Rob Schneider is The Carrot!
Thats not irony in the least.....
Horrible, horrible irony is something like what occured on the show "Deadliest Catch".
Gary Edwards, captain of the ship "BIg Valley", goes over what an EPIRB is at the beginning of one of the season. An EPIRB is an emergancy beacon that goes off when submerged in water. It is stuck to the ship so that once the ship goes down it automatically sends out a distress signal to try and get rescue for any possible surviviors.
Well right in that first episode of that season Big Valley goes missing and their EPIRB goes off. Turns out the ship went down and only one crew member survived, and it wasn't captain Edwards......
