Congratulations to those of you who do still have it and also have a successful online identity. I know its not exactly the easiest thing in the world. I hate it especially because all of my friends play games like world of warcraft, guild wars, etc. I'm hoping to upgrade sooner or later, hopefully sooner. I'd love to hear stories or whatever about dial up.

Sorry to hear that. Around here, dialup goes for about $10/mo. (USD) Low speed DSL - which is pretty fast compared to dialup - goes for around $15/mo. It's only an extra $60 a year and totally worth it, especially considering that it doesn't tie up the phone lines.

i remember back in the day when we only had dial-up and one phone line. i'd need to use the phone and my sister would be on the internet, so i'd pick up the phone and start mashing the buttons so the internet would get disconnected.
