Ever since I updated and have this new looking one (Internert Explorer 8 I believe), I've encountered a few annoyances.

For example, every time I shut down my computer and then turn it on the next day, IE always pops up a message that tells me if I want to visit my last browsing session or start a new session.

However, I don't even use Internet Explorer. All I do is click on it, with Google being my homepage, and then click the "x" or close button and start browsing the Internet with Firefox.

How do I stop this message from popping up? I mean I don't even have a browsing session with IE, the only website is Google which is my homepage. I've tried going to options, security, etc but I just can't find anything. It's really starting to annoy me after the 300th time.

Windows System Automatic Updates happen to update everything, so I don't really choose what I want updated. I just get the Microsofy Security Essentials, malicious software removal tools, and whatever else is on the menu.

Second, my tradition when I turn on the computer is to first open up Internet Explorer, see if it works, and then open up Firefox and do any research or leisure browsing from there. Don't knock on what doesn't fail. Yet.

Yeah, I'm not sure why this step is necessary. The internet is going to work just as well with Firefox or any other browser. I don't think there is any need to "check".

Keep in mind I don't live in the US. Meaning my Internet host can screw me over whenever they like. Meaning I have to deal with faulty Internet connection even though it's premium paid. Meaning having another browser around if Firefox seems not up to par is useful.

It is only a "just in case" when I'm waiting forever for Google or whatever to load and I check Internet Explorer to see if the problem is with the connection itself, not with Firefox. Also there's no point in giving advice for this, since you'd have to be in my situation and the place I live in to understand what it's like.

And just in case someone mentions it, my connection is secured, I have a password for it so neighbors or whomever don't use it.

Is it really possible that no one has a solution? At the very least, does anyone know a support forum for IE where I can ask this question and expect an answer that will solve all this?

Maybe some IE cookies that stored on your pc makes IE pop ups to notify users to continue from last session or start the new page. Ok, try to clear the IE cookies that stored on your pc and see the changes of the IE.

Just delete Internet Explorer from your computer. Why do you need it if you have Firefox already?

Have a look at your start-up settings. For some reason, the computer may be trying to open up IE automatically at start-up.
