I highly doubt your grades in middle school, and what match classes you take in high school will have any affect on your abilities to become a doctor. You'll get all the applicable courses in the 8+ years of college you'll be taking.

I am a doctor and a supreme court judge. You need to take advanced math in high school. You also need to do a lot of things that require work. Several tasks that are difficult will also have to be completed. Stuff will happen and people will talk and breather during all this. Are you up for the challenege?

what he said........and honestly why would someone want to be come a doctor? there are plenty of other jobs that make even more than what a doctor makes...i guess its probably cause u get the "Dr" infront of your name ... after high school it takes around 10 years of your life away with studding and all that stuff...ALSO being a doctor is HARD WORK.

Maybe someone wants to be a doctor because they like that kind of stuff? I know who would know that someone would want to pick a job they like.

Yea some of us believe in actually making differences in peoples lives....

Anyway, yes contrary to what others have told you it is important to take certain highschool subjects in order to see whether you can handle those types of courses and if you actually like them.

You should take biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, and discrete mathematics. As these will be needed to enter into a university science program. Also you should be getting at least 85% avg and do many extra curricular activities. It's a tough path but with persistance you can succeed.

I'm in pre-med. It doesn't matter what you get in middle school whatsoever, but it would be good to at least reach calc 1 by the end of senior year when applying for undergrad. With that said, if you want to be a doctor all that matters is your college GPA and your MCAT scores. Oh and try working under a professor or volunteering at a hospital before applying for Med school too.

In middle school? Haha, yeah, a university is going to say to you "Oooh, sorry, you got a D in middle school science, I'm afraid you don't meet our requirements."

As others have stated, it is highly important for you to attain a strong foundation in both math and science now. When you get to your undergrad, it is helpful to be a science-based major. Take the MCAT seriously and getting into Med school with a nice MCAT score and healthy GPA should be achievable.
