As a non american, i often find Harsh criticisms against him online. Some also Praise Him Highly too to the point of being best US prez in years.

Well he did see that unemployment fell from 10% in 2010 to just under 5% recently (and it appears it will continue in the next few months). He's imperfect, but it's hard to ignore his accomplishments as president.

He is one of the good presidents and has done many good things in pushing forward on key issues like climate change, energy and guns. People always praise Clinton but fail to realize his policies led to bank crisis. I bet when he is gone, people will realize he wasn't as bad as anti-Obama propaganda had led them to believe

Just got free from exams and stress. Started Final Fantasy XIII-2 and also got Lightning Returns

He's had good accomplishments, but he has also had some real huge black marks on his resume. He didn't restore the economy. The fixes he implemented were better than the GOP's ideas, as they would have hastened the ill effects, while he delayed them a little. Our economy is screwed either way. And unbelievable diplomacy in the Middle East? Really? Has he done anything about India and Pakistan's perpetual brinksmanship, or done the same with Israel and Palestine? Did he not support Turkish indiscriminate bombing in Yemen?

Trust me on this, no US president can do much about anything about Indo-Pakistan conflict. And it has kinda subdued over recent years after US stopped blatantly supporting Pakistan. It's one of those husband-wife conflicts which are better without involvement of aimless third party and if US is really worried about conflicts it should do more to keep China in check with it bullying India, Japan etc.

This is why I do not come to OT. I lost a few brain cells reading this.

I think he did the best he could considering he had a Republican Congress who had no interest in legislating but instead just gumming up the works. Considering that, I'm surprised he got as much accomplished as he did.

He slashed the deficit quite heavily, slightly cut military spending, cut taxes for 99% of the population, decreased unemployment quite substancially. Of course, he was far from perfect, he did afterall approve of TPP.

Overall, he was a good president. And accomplished quite a bit and did more good than he did harm. I would put him somewhere in the middle, above failures like Dubya, Ronald Reagan and Nixon, but below presidents like Roosevelt, Ike and Bill Clinton.

He kept his hands relatively free of bloodshed in a time where it was extremely difficult to avoid. For that, I respect him.

I think Obama did a good job. Everyone else in my family hates his guts though.

Good president hamstrung by a worthless Congress. It would be an honor to meet him, wouldn't piss on a member of Congress to stop the fire.

Bad. Even coming from the left he is horrid. I really hate how he let repukes walk over him. His immigration policies sucked and he broke the law as well. (No, i am not talking about where he was born)

That is what I like about the left you disagree with someones policy and you are called a racist. Obama has done a lot of damage to the United states with his policies. No good jobs are being created, wages have decreased, the middle class is almost gone, he is perceived as weak by the other foreign leaders. He had a chance to unite the country and he has divided it further. The black community was hoping for improvement but things are worse for them unemployment in the black community is over 10%. Part time hours have been scaled back to avoid the Affordable Care Act. The economy is in shambles and shows no improvement for the near future.

He was a good president for the most part, the Republicans decided early on to say No to him as often as possible, irregardless of whether what he wanted would help the country.

His Achilles heel was foreign policy, I understand not wanting to get involved in wars, but he could have taken tougher stances.

Tell me, how does the president influence the economy; particularly the type of jobs that are created and the wages paid? What role does Congress play? What actions could Obama taken to have improved those issues you've listed?

I think that he was a very good president but was held back by the most toxic opposition that I have ever seen.

Aye, met with impasses on a lot of issues that could improve the state of the country. Nonetheless, the things he has done for America make me think he is one of the best presidents the USA has ever had. The poor and middle working class, LGBT (and Cuba lol) have a lot to thank him for.

Knowing the REAL mechanics of how the political system works, I would say he's followed the script of his predecessors( Republican and Democrat) He's protected the interest of the ruling class and has had a positive & negative impact on civil issues. But of course, most people who know politics know that it's the corporations and special interest groups that dictate policy

The only thing that changes is our perspective but the results are the same, that's why people are frustrated. I think when more people realize this, they will stop looking for the government to make changes in the lives and know that the only REAL change comes from how they perceive things.

He reminds me of a softer version of Bush Jr. He was the lesser of two evils when it came to two establishment presidents trying to get into office. Economically, I think he's terrible at it but smarter at covering it up to sway the public. I can't put the blame all on him, but his administration as a whole and the republican-dominate senates. He gave us hope but he hardly gave us any change.

US presidents are always harshly criticized. He's been ok. I fear whichever candidates got nominated by their respective parties will be far, far worse. Cant believe the Dems are going to give us the worst possible person on the earth as their nominee.

Obama is great. The only tragedy is how much resistance he encountered; he and the administration could have done so more if congress was even a little bit more cooperative.

I'm not a fanboy of anything, so he has no argument against me as I stated. I own all systems and enjoy them all. The guy going nuts calling everybody racist because they disagree with him just needs to have a drink and go to bed.

He's done a decent job given the road blocks that have been put in his way and the extreme shift the GOP has taken in the last decade. With that being said there's plenty of stuff I disagree with that he's done. Then again when I look at the presidential hopefuls that are running right now he looks pretty good, especially the GOP clown show happening.

At the start of his term, the dems held both houses. He was held back by his own party and his own indecision. He never was able to show true leadership. He had a chance to lead from ahead on gay rights and healthcare but he took the cowards way out. He went for civil unions and opposed gay marriage until the population supported it. then he was for it. Thats bullshit and weakness. Not what a leader would do but what a scoundrel like Hillary clinton would do - pandering.

Obamacare is a disaster. It could have ushered in a much better era of healthcare reform, but instead he went to bed with health care companies and drug companies. Costs remain absurd.

He will probably be considered in the middle of the pack in terms of presidents maybe lower end.

The debt is an absolute disaster and the middle east is just as bad if not worse than when he took the office. He talksabout gun control when he had ample opportunity when he had a supermajority in both house and senate back during his first term to get things done.

He has some good accomplishments but overall there's still glaring failures as well.

As someone not from the US, I see him as a fairly good one overall, but he must be very divisive, He seems to catch flak from both sides of the spectrum, which might mean that he is the very definition og someone in the middle, which I think is fairly admirable.

He is a whole lot more Likable then the last one, that's for sure. I am not sure how much to credit him for, but while he has been President the US did reach a much better standard overall, jut not sure how much the average citizen feels that. So maybe he could have tried to do more for the average Joe, if he has any say in that, I think many states do a fairly bad job, and he catches the flak. Not easy to be the frontman.
