Is being a sexist really that bad?

I always sorta believed that men are generally better compared to women, but I'm no extreme sexist that I hate women or anything . . . I know there are some women out there who are better than some men when it comes to certain things even weight lifting . . . I'm just saying that if I was to make a bet on who the next president, next scientist who invented this, next person who would win in this or any other things similar to that, I'm going to be betting on that person being a guy . . . What do you guys think? Is being a sexist really that bad?? Or are we all slightly sexists deep inside . . .

Yes it is bad. A Woman can do almost anything a man can do. I say almost because they can't pee standing up!

Depends on what you mean by sexist. If you actively discriminate against women by promoting underqualified candidates over them, simplybecause they are women, then yes that is bad. But there's a lot of stuff that is considered "sexist" that really isnt.

I am most likely the sexist guy on the forum, its annoying as a lot of the girls on here give me constant attention, this is unfortunate as I would only go out with agirl if I have seen her home first so I could see how clean she keeps it.

I generally tend to think young men are better at their jobs than young women. However, it's not universal, and I hate being sexist.

Not really. The social norms of what a man and woman can do are bad because these are based on misconceptions and have no root in facts. I'm male and I want to knock the sexist morons I hang with out sometimes because the things they spout are pulled from their backside. Thank the liberal upbringing for that I suppose.

Anyone who endorses sexism is just adding negativity to the already unfair world we live in. So yeah it's bad.

Inherent qualities with which someone is born have no bearing on that person's worth, so any kind of discrimination - including sexism - is wrong.

Also, women can do almost anything men can do, and vice versa. While it's true that men are better than women at certain things, and vice versa, that is largely irrelevant to me, since I try to see people of both genders as individuals, not members of a group.

Isn't that equivalent to asking the question "Is being a racist really that bad?"?...tocool340
