I think so. The only problem I've ever had was a hotel reservation that didn't go through(despite the fact that I got charged for it). Identity theft hasn't been a problem.
Still, I only buy things online when I have to.
Absolutely. I buy tons of stuff online (made three purchases today, from three sources). I always buy stuff on iTunes, and have never had a problem.
In fact, yesterday on MsNBC (I think), they did a piece on how using your card at the gas pump is less safe than the internet. The internet is extremely safe. If there is a padlock in the bottom right hand corner it is safe.
I bought accounts for an online game (from Germany), a GameSpot PLUS account (which I only used for the game guides...lol, not a good idea for Dial Up people), shirts from CafePress, golfballs from eBay, video games from Amazon, and much more online.... It's great...However it's much easier to spend your entire paycheck...LOL

That's the kind of thing that concerns me the most......paying for something & not being able to get it......I'd feel very paranoid about spending a large sum of money to buy something online, & not end up getting it......that's why I haven't bought anything online yet. I'd like to know that I WILL get what I'm buying before I spend my money. & btw, I'm not referring to unsafe sites.....what I mean is that......I just feel paranoid about any errors that may occur in the process :P
It's safe depending on which websites you want to buy from. eBay is generally safe but there are a-holes there that will try to rip you off. Pay attention to feedback, specifically recent feedback.
Remember to look at URLs whenever you plan to log into a website or try to buy something using a credit card or Paypal account. Phishing websites have become very popular because people don't pay attention to URLs.
Lastly, keep a seperate password for any account that has a credit card attatched to it, or any account that can be used to purchase items like Amazon. Someone might figure out a password (like your myspace password or your OS account password) and if you use the same password for everything, they have the power to buy something using your money.

Oh. Well, I don't know what to tell you. Sometimes that stuff happens, I guess. It was a one-time thing for me, so it hasn't scared me away from the process. There are things you can do to make sure it runs smoothly, such as printing out receipts or calling customer service the next day to confirm.

It's a trade-off. If I wanted to order the DVD sets for every season of a particular television show, I could drive around town looking for every one. They may not all be at one store, and I may not find find all of them. There can be hassle either way.
But it's okay, buying online certainly isn't necessary. In fact, the above scenario is usually the only reason I would, if I'm fairly certain I couldn't easily find what I was looking for.

Yeah.....but I could also order in store (if possible) if I couldn't find what I'm looking for......I dunno.....I guess I just simply feel much more comfortable buying or ordering from in store. & besides, I don't mind having a bit of a drive around town.....yeah, so call me stubborn :P

Plus you cannot buy absolutely everything online.
if your smart then yes, but make sure the site has a brick and mortar store somewhere, not just some warehouse in mexico or china, and also look for people who've shopped there's reviews of their store. Google helps in this. All it takes is intelligence and common sense.
There's a few scammers here and there on Ebay, but you can usually identify them.suicidalpoptrt
A few? Let's say a big bunch. I got my fair bit of trouble on ebay and I got over 100 feedbacks over 5 years. I strongly suggest any new members to read ebay and paypal policies. You will need the to know what to do whenyou encounter a problem.
Just recently, I've been screwed by a Powerseller...
My parents are kind of paranoid about the credit card information online so the only way my family buys stuff online is if we call it in, like on amazon and then track it through the websitePowerhitter0418
It's the contrary, problems occurs when you don't pay with a credit card. If you got trouble, you credit card cie will refund you without any minutes.
Yes...use reputable sites and check that thepayment info is secure.LJS9502_basic
