You are going to get about 10 pages, and lol @ thinking christmas is offensive, I'd like to know what is actually offensive about it TC, unless of course this is some good old fashioned you know what, that this thread's real purpose is for.
EDIT: I just noticed the level and post count, it's probably what I think it is.
A commercial is purely business oriented. What they put in it is just for advertising. People shouldn't get worked up about it.
but they are trying to appeal to those who celebrate the winter solstice, i.e ****ing PAGANS.millertime812You do of course realize that Christmas is simply the pagan winter solstice hijacked by a Pope, right? The only thing offensive to me about this holiday is the insistence that the attempts to make it appeal to more people are immoral and are trying to take away it's religious meaning and hijack it for other people and beliefs, when it's really just a hijacked holiday itself in the first place.
This video has got to be on the net somewhere, could someone provide a link? Anyways I'm sure many of us have fond associations with Chirstmas regardless of religous affiliation. It is kind of a bummer that Christmas has fallen victim to debates over political corectness and such. alphamale1989Here it is. I see nothing bad about this.
I recently saw a Gap commercial, you probably have too, where attractive young people dance around in trendy wintery apparel about christmas shopping and say " Go christmas, go Hannakauh, go Kwanza(If thats how its spelled), go solstice." Not only are they appealing to some bull**** african holiday that people made up because they felt left out, but they are trying to appeal to those who celebrate the winter solstice, i.e ****ing PAGANS. God forbid they offend the pagans, who i am sure are the largest consumers of flannal shirts and V-neck sweaters. So for those of you who associate themselves with a religion other that christianity, is Christmas offensive?millertime812
"bull**** African Holiday?"
I'm not sure if I should report you for trolling (seeing as how you only have 8 posts, I'm leaning towards the idea that you recently got banned for trolling), or point out that I see EVERY holiday (including Christian ones) as being just as "bull****" as the "african" or "pagan" holidays that you're talking trash about.
If you don't give a **** about Kwanzaa (which I don't give a **** about either), then why should I give a **** about Christmas (which, I actually genuinely don't give a **** about)?
Here it is. I see nothing bad about this. The choreography is pretty amazing, I like the backflips. Mabey not so much the audio though. Not really offensive. Seems very Christmas inspired though, not so much Kwanza and soltice. So I'm getting pretty mixed messages here.[QUOTE="alphamale1989"]This video has got to be on the net somewhere, could someone provide a link? The commercial was moronic, yes, but that in no way makes Christmas "offensive". I think you are drawing some misguided conclusions here. CrimzonTideChristmas was never offensive to anyone because it's just a holiday so what's so offensive about it.
Dude it was just a commercial. Why do people take these things way to far?GrandJury
He's a leve 2 with 8 posts.
In all probability, he's a bandodger or a troll.
Most people who join a community and actually are interested in discussion don't start making these kinds of comments within their first 10 posts. I guaranttee that there's about a 90% chance that this guy was already here and got banned, or just found this place and is using it to stir up trouble just for laughs.
