I just had a though, is it right for people to take part in competetitions where they must compete against others to eat the most when there are people who are starving all over the world? Discuss.

Is it right for people to swim competetively when I'm too poor to own a swimming pool?

Is it right for people to play videogames competetively when I can't afford a PS3?

Sure. Didn't Nathans donate a large amount of hot dogs to some charity to commemorate this event anyway?

You don't need the ability to play videogames or swim to survive though.

Well see, these food eating competitors will die of a heart attack quicker and thus enabling their bodies to be sent over seas to where hungry children need it most.

I hope it right because competetitive starving doesn't have the same ring to it, plus some of Africa would have a unfair advantage because they already have a head start..

Let the hicks clog their arteries with all manner of crap. It is survival of the fittest, and they will obviously lose, but at least they will satisfy their glutinous family members who voted for them...

I don't think Joey Chestnut and the $10,000 check he got from the hot dog eating contest has a problem with competitive eating.

I'm pretty sure at least some of them raise money through the event for starving people, I'd imagine they would have a very bad reputation if they just took some lazy Americans and made them eat hot dogs for half an hour without sharing them.

So unless all 6+ billion people on earth have food we can't have competitive eating?

It doesn't matter, that hotdog eating contest is crazy to watch. How do you eat over 50 hotdogs without exploding

If you have the food you can do what you want with it. It's not a big deal.

You don't need the ability to play videogames or swim to survive though.

So? What, you're supposed to avoid doing stuff out of guilt? I thought that guilt was only supposded to apply when you are RESPONSIBLE for stuff.

Yeah, if you stole all of the food from starving children, then it's wrong to use that food in a competetive eating contest. Otherwise, it's your food to do with as you will. If you don't go to the store and buy 70 hot dogs, the store isn't gonna send those 70 hot dogs to a poverty-stricken African country. Starving kids are gonna starve regardless of whether you stuff your fat freaking face, so you'd might as well eat up.
