Waz up gamers ? So I was thinking is English the most spoken language in the world ? Since I am in the US English is to me the one and only superior language but could I be wrong ? Outside the US and in the world there could be another most popular or even more known. Does anyone know ? What other national languages are well known around the world ? What is your native language ?

Mandarin Chinese is the world's most widely spoken language. It's also my native tongue, but I'm not Chinese.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but roughly a 1/3 of the worlds population speak English, whilst Mandarin is spoken by roughly 9.4 trillion people. Quite impressive considering there's only 6 billion people on Earth.

i cant tell if thats an insult or not. if it is. the reason why we dont learn all these other languages in school is because we arn't surrouned by alot of other countires that could all fit into the US. Also the reason mandrin is the most spoken launguage is because china has so many people there.

I would say that Mandarin/English usageis roughly even, although I'm sure I heard that 9.4 trillion Martians speak it...

If you go by the amount of people who can speak the language English has the most amount of speakers. (1st and 2nd language)

As a native language English is 3rd behind Mandarin and Spanish

[QUOTE="AliasUK"]Correct me if I'm wrong, but roughly a 1/3 of the worlds population speak English, whilst Mandarin is spoken by roughly 9.4 trillion people. Quite impressive considering there's only 6 billion people on Earth. AliasUK

wtf? I think like 1.5billion or so people in china and aroundspeak madarin...

Aww, diddums doesn't understand dry humour. Youdon't seriously think that I believe there to be 9.4 trillion Mandarin speakers, do you?

I would say that Mandarin/English usageis roughly even, although I'm sure I heard that 9.4 trillion Martians speak it...

It's ok. It made me lol.
