is Full Metal Alchemist safe for kids ?

I've been watching reviews about full Metal Alchemist and all look awesome. I am planing on buying the first season soon.

But I am wondering, is it safe for kids to watch it?

I would some help with this one. My kids are eventually going to ask me to watch it.

I wouldn't let my kids watch it.

The language is fairly clean, other than a few occasional, yet pretty weak swears.

The violence if anything might be the problem. It can be fairly gory at times.

It depends on what your kids can handle. Really I could have handled it when I was pretty young; the problem however would be that I probably wouldn't understand the story a huge amount.

It is pretty gory and presents some pretty mature themes about life and death. I would say not very young kids.
