A red-haired family claims to have been driven from their

Newcastle home because of abuse. Why is the harassment of 'readheads'

dismissed as just harmless fun?

In my high school in South Wales, (11-18), ginger insults are quite common. 

"Get lost you ginger ****" ect

they seem to get it from their parents

It's the same thing really. Hating someone just because of the way they look. Whether it's black skin, white skin, red hair or whatever. I guess they could dye their hair but they shouldn't have to just because they were born with red hair.

yes... it is as bad. nearly everyone i know 'hates' gingers and will talk out about it, but not matter how they feel about race issues, they'll never speak out about it. and the fact that it's so open makes it worse than racsism imo

If Alicia Witt (88 minutes, great pacino movie) is classified as a "ginger", then I don't want to be right.

Wait what were we talking about? Oh right yeah not cool. Oh well, the irish are worse for that sort of thing.

They are pretty much England's black people, kind of. Gingers seem to be hated there more than here.

Gingers do look kind of creepy, but I'm not going to start treating people the same with no regards to appearence whatsoever.

VIZ (northern england humour mag) once did a thing saying that if people from warmer climate (ie nearer the equator etc) have dark hair, and people from cooler climates (ie nearer the poles) have lighter/blonde hair... then where do gingers come from? :?

Are you sure about that, I thought I heard Tony Blair saying a rash of crimes were being caused by black people (or black culture).  Not the same as Ginger, seems black people have it worst (I'm black).

The Irish and Scottish have more drinking problems than your average ethnicity. Americans have larger problems with obesity. Japanese people don't poop. Call these stereotypes if you want, but they're still true when talking about a group and accepting that not all individuals in this group can be classified as this, but enough can.

Well, I was kind of kidding too (I'm pretty sure the Japanese defecate the same as anyone else), but it annoys me to hear people rejecting stereotypes so much.
