Is it a good idea to put a TV remote or game controller in the fridge?

Well I know it's a good idea, but what I really want to ask is, will there be any problems or potential malfunctions?

The AC has been very bad and the temperature is very hot. Everything becomes sweaty to touch and uncomfortable to hold. Having the remote feel ice cold works wonders for relaxation when watching TV on the couch. A cold game controller means easier and more fun game sessions.

Anyone know if they potentially cause problems? Usually the warning just says never melt under direct sunlight, but I'm planning on doing the opposite.

Lemme know how that works out.

Only issues I can see are:

1) the plastic may become rome rigid than normal and be more prone to cracking when pressed.

2) Moving it from a cold environment to a hot, humid one can cause condensation to form on components with such as copper and solder.

Well I just found an ice-pack, although it's flavored. Well not flavored, but it has a lavender smell, I got it as a set from a friend.

Anyway I thought about using that but it will only last at best half an hour and then I'll have to wait several hours when I put it back in the freezer for it to be cold again.

It might cause problems depending on how long it was in there. I wouldnt recommend it though.

Just get one of those cold packs people stick in their lunchboxes.

I agree, as outside temperature affects car batteries.

I believe that the batteries could be damaged by that.

Also, aside from the condensation problem, the parts inside the controller might crack under the cold. Even less than tenth of a inch in contraction due to the cold would be more than enough to severe electronic connections and damage the components. I wouldn't recommend it.Dtnoip28

Cover it in kool-aid first. Then you have a frozen tasty treat while gaming.

I had a gamecube controller with a built in fan back in the day. I miss that sucka.

Maybe you could try putting a towel in the fridge. Once it's cold enough, wrap it around your remote.

My grandpa always keeps batteries in the freezer :?

Anyway, I don't think it would be good for the controller to put it in the fridge
