Get a chromebook-- that's what I use for school.All I know is that I can't afford either.

[QUOTE="THE_DRUGGIE"]Get a chromebook-- that's what I use for school. A chrome book is useless and extremely limited in the grand scheme. Even costing way more than it is to produce. Our lower-end Tablets with cheap keyboard are more reliable, more powerful, and have a better feature set than a chrome book. Not to mention the incredibly terrible size. All I know is that I can't afford either.

Windows Phone doesn't have anything on Note 2.DroidPhysXBecause Touchwize has the advancement for core veterans and the acessibility for casual hardware users at the same time. Well, it doesn't, and has a lesser feature set a restrictions. Why do you think Samsung is switching OS's?

Either way it's even LESS developer friendly and Casual friendly, it requires a bit of investment, and in doing that most don't realize what the full featureset can do.
[QUOTE="lx_theo"]Their pathetic attempts to counter Apple. . . like Wimdows? lol, Wimdows Yeah, like Windows. Specifically Windows 8 does this a lot.If people go and buy something that isn't Apple, it'll be Android. we all know Microsoft's tablets will die young, just like all their other pathetic attempts to counter Apple.

No, not at all. Microsoft is clearly trying to go the way of Apple in trying to establish their own ecosystem of a unified interface across devices, but Apple has been doing this for a long time. True, their marketshare in OS gives them a good headstart, but in tablets and smartphones, they're going to be bleeding a lot of cash for awhile.

Which went from hardware to software for music which has indeed beaten Itunes quite a few times. Next?Yes, just like the Zune beat the iPod.

Nobody is going to want to touch Microsoft's products after enough people become familiar with the Windows 8 abomination and Windows RT is basically identical to Windows 8's Metro interface. The brand will quickly become toxic if they don't get their house in order.
Windows phones are horrible too. Is it any wonder they're Nokia's OS of choice for their flagship handsets?
Yet it's in 3rd place in the Smartphone market already? Also there are other companies making Windows Phones, you rlack of windows phone knowledge is possibly because of misnformation. Also Windows 8 works well for Tablets you do realize that right? And phones? A giant corporation moving into the smartphone market and beating Blackberry OS at a time when keypads are on their deathbed is nothing extraordinary (especially when Blackberry OS is exclusive to proprietary devices and also a bit rubbish). There is simply no comparison to Android or iOS in terms of usability and content.
And where did I say it was exclusive to Nokia devices? I'm just saying Windows phones are tainted by their close association with a historically mediocre phone company (ask anybody who owned a Nokia before the smartphone revolution). I know you like cheerleading for Microsoft and that's great, but just accept the fact most human beings can't stand the Windows Metro UI and find it monstrous.

Blackberry wasn't in third-place when Windows 8 took over. Metro UI gains tons of compliments for tablets and smartphones and is only usually critizied for desk and lap tops, you have no clue what you are talking about. the Metro interface was applauded for Phones and tablets because it made sense, and even Apple said that it is more intuitive in the msartphone market. Customization is more so on Windowsphone8, you can' t deny it because I can list more customizations it can do then you can for the other two even if you stretch it and include things not relevant or related.I was going to pick up Win8, but I just want something more intuitive for desktop. I like the idea of getting rid of the start menu, but "Metro" is just a little awkward for desktop. Though, I might pick up a cheap MS Tablet...jcknapier711WIN8 is the most intuitive OS, the complaints are it is too intuitive and has less options since it forces the metro interface with very little room to wiggle and no instant desktop. If you are looking for intuitive, look no further than windows 8, unless you have no idea what intuitive means and just say it like lots of other websites are doing now.
Not sure where the hate for windows phone 8 is coming from. Its very well rounded... Simple and unified system with a lot of versitility. Its downfall being its app selection hasn't caught up. I'm not saying they will overtake the market but it's got a chance. I'm sorry but Apple in my opinion is beginning to lose direction and andriod for me personally is too damn fragmented. The Nokia Lumia 800 and 900 series have received good to great praise and HTC is picking hp more WP8 phones. The fact its already outpaced WP7 is a good start.
I personally find MS's tablets and phones much easier to use with better features than apple stuff.

I'm just one guy though, and most people don't think that.
I am sure it will pass android in terms of tablets, I think that windows wil get close to the ipad, and may pass it. Currently are currrently about 1 billion+ smartphones (out of a total of about 5 billion cell phones) and 1+ billion computers in the world, but at most, there is 100 million tablets. There is a lot of room for growth and the market to change. There is a lot of room for change, especially in developing countries where people's first experience on a computer will be on a tablet.Â
Edit: I think there is a huge market for PC like tablets (which is what microsoft will dominate), and a smaller market for phone like tablets (where apple is excelling)Â
I don't see why not. What with Microsoft's long history of defeating Apple at their own game. Especially when Microsoft won the epic battle that was the Zune vs the ipod.
Which is clearly made for Tablets, and the only people complaining about it are the ones using the desktop version and saying it would be perfect for tablets and smartphones. Not unless they fix that piece of sh!t aka Windows 8. Â

I have it on my touch screen laptop and it sucks.  Oh, and yeah it's for tablets,  tablets that need attachable keyboards.  Which effectively turns them into laptops, laptops with hardly any storage space.  And it's not perfect for tablets or smart phones.  There isn't a single review of windows 8 that doesn't describe how excruciating it is to operate the desktop in a touch screen setting. ÂNot unless they fix that piece of sh!t aka Windows 8. Â
