I really starting to see it now where girls are getting more cute as the time goes by, as if no one isn't having naturally ugly children as often anymore, like since the last generation(80's born kids, early 90's) girls are cuter than women from back then. I looked at my mom's year book, and my cousin yeat book(she graduated in 1998) and there were some seriously attrocious girls in those books.

On the other subject, are men getting more feminine? It's realy starting to look like that to me, the alpha male, muscle bound gut went out of style or something.

I disagree, regarding the women, I just think you don't find the styles of the older times attractive

And about the guys... haven't noticed it myself

In your kids time they will think the same about your yearbook. Fashion has a lot to do with it and that changes so drastically that even pictures from ten years ago look bad.

I dunno. There are some hideous girls in my grade. Like I'm talking astoundingly ugly. They don't even have smarts or a personality to make up for it either which is such a shame. And worst of all, they all like me :( From a fashion stand point though, what the hell happened to miniskirts. Guys control women's fashion right? When did waist high skirts get back into fashion. Leave that in the 20's where it belongs. Bring back miniskirts + really high stockings/socks. Please. I miss those :( As for girly men. Oh yeah. Definitely.

I don't think that girls are necessarily getting cuter. I think that beauty, styles, etc. change with the times, and you probably don't find older looks to be attractive. They were at the time, but they aren't anymore to most people. As for guys getting more feminine...I don't know if I'd necessarily agree with that either. The only thing is that I think that maybe society's become a bit more open so guys can be more feminine if they want to. It was less accepted a few generations ago for a man to be anything but a man.

Certainly makes sense since hot people tend to have hot babies and ugly people tend to make ugly babies and hot people tend to make more babies than ugly people. As far as guys looking more feminine - it's a style / social change. I'd say part of it has to do with the fact that there aren't as many hard labor jobs as there used to be - there used to be a contrast between the strong men who plowed and mined the earth and the women who sat at home bored and were expected to cook at such.

I haven't compared to a degree where I could say accurately if women of previous generations were not as attractive as the current, but I think it has more to do with the style of clothes girls where now days are more revealing and they wear make up more often and a variety of other factors. But either way I just appreciate the view of a good looking woman and don't question the how or why of it. :P

Most girls are pretty good looking to me, I'm not hard to please...

As for the men becoming more feminine, YES! it's the whole self-esteem/'it's okay to cry' mumbo jumbo. Not to mention, a lot of the macho guys act like total retards.

From an evolutionary perspective, the muscular alpha male jock isn't really that appealing anymore if that's what you consider masculine. Success in society is now moderated by intelligence, speech skills and confidence. The "feminine" guys of today often seem to have the latter two qualities (they are social and are not afraid to show that).

I say that the 10 on the hotness scale is now deflated to a 8; but the average (imo used to be a 7) is now a 6.

So we have hotter people now, :D but the average is now a little worse looking imo. :(

I think people are just paying more attention on how they look, and that include guys. And people are becoming more and more accepting and open about different gender roles and embrace them. I have seen guys putting on make up (no it's not the emo kids) and shopping for women clothing (and he is wearing them when I saw him, type of shirt that emphasize certain body parts specifically for women). I have also seem guys working at positions that were traditionally held by ladies (selling make-up at Nordstrom and Philosophies, a sales rep at Victoria Secrets). It is even more widespread when I was in China at the beginning of the year, and looks like the US is catching on now.

girls are separated into 2 groups. The hotties and the nasties. You dont see the nasties very often cuz they hide out not wanting to be seen while the ones who are hot and knnow that they are are always trying to show off.

As for the guys getting feminine it is due to skinny jeans

Who cares if guys want to be feminine?

Why force someone to be someone he does not want to be?

And what fun would the world be if everyone was exactly the same?

Honestly, I've noticed that girls get more attractive with the more makeup that comes out, so it's not REAL beauty, personally I love a girl who doesn't wear makeup, shows confidence that they they don't need to put a fake face on to feel like they look good and go in public.

As for guys being more feminine? Hell yes. I see guys who look like they take 20 minutes doing their hair in the morning, and wear hair/face products, and wear very stylish (*cough feminine cough*) clothes. It became very evident seeing these guys at my university, and a lot of them drink "Mocha latté frappucino's" or whatever those pathetic excuses for coffee are.

There's nothing wrong with caring about how you look, but I don't think guys (or girls for that matter) should spend more than 30 minutes getting ready in the morning (and that includes shower time). My routine is drag my tired ass in the shower, shower for 15, get out and dry off, comb hair, brush teeth, deoderant, get dressed (t-shirt and jeans 99,999% of the time) and get the hell out.

I agree that guys are getting more feminine, mainly because it makes it easier to get with girls. Usually now girls dont prefer hairy guys and want their boyfriends to be more emotionally involved (drama). Feminine guys are also more easy to appoach too.

As everyone has said girls look better to us now cause of styles and what not.

As for men getting more feminine sure some are, and its not a bad thing. I didnt have a girl friend for 2 years straight untill I started growing my hair out. Than, I stared straightning my hair,Than I started wering skinny jeans, and with each feminine thing I did the girls I hooked up with guy progressivly hotter.

Soo yeah.

Guys are most definitely losing their masculinity. I, for one, refuse to lose mine. As for girls getting cuter, i think you're confusing cuter with more made up. I prefer the girl with little makeup wearing a t-shirt and jeans to the blond-clownmakeup-dress and high heel wearing chicks I see around my campus. I've noticed this trend and find it very sad.

Not sure about girls but men getting more feminine is definitely a problem. It is not just feminization of men, but also school systems, media, politics. Men should be men Women should be women. Politics should stay the F out.

Most girls you see now are far from cute, more like coverd in make up with fake personalities and the men are really no different then how they were a long time ago, if anything society has become so accepting of everything that as time moves forward people can be who they want to be more and more without being judged and ridiculed for it.

P.S: That girl you think is hot might not be so hot when you wake up to her the next day and her breath smells like some chubby kids fart. Luckily my girlfriend is pretty without make up ;)

Uh, in my school it seems that feminine hairstyles are becoming more prevalent among the guys. Though that's just a silly prejudice on my behalf. It looks awful sexy. In terms of behaviour, I haven't noticed any change. Though I wouldn't, given I don't recall how guys acted like in the eighties or other periods before my birth. >_> Also, I don't notice the sexiness of girls. Ever. O_O

I am not sure about the girls getting cuter. I have always found plenty of girls attractive.

But I do believe in the more feminine guy part. There aren't as strict definitions on manhood now so us guys are more free to show our more feminine side.

Most guys DO have a soft-side and finally society's training to make men completely ignore that softer side is weakening.

If you're thinking about the clohes they wear i would say yes. Many of my friends are buying T-Shirts for 300 kroner (50 Dollars). They don't look feminine but when you pay that much for a T-shirt it kinda is.
