[QUOTE="Detroit222"]I can remember the first year after high school. I felt so OLD. Trying to decide what you want out of life, what you want to be, should you go to college or a technical school, dating, marriage, children........
Now I'm in my 60s, got a home, a family, a bit of money put by for retirement. To me, this is the BEST part of my life.

sorry to be personal here, I would like to ask you when the youth usually fades away? at 40 or at 50, by youth I meant for the youngness, that is the strength in general. I would appreciate your answers, and by the way how do you feel about life over all, is it grand or something?I still feel young, although to most, I'm the "old person". I'm in pretty good shape and have always believed that as long as you stay at the TOP of whatever age you're at, you're ok. There are things that I have "gracefully surrendered" (see Desiderata on wiki) like roller coasters and dancing til dawn. :D
There's things you have to give up in each era of your life. But there's things you get too. It's different for everyone. I'm not saying that you no longer have problems, worries and concerns. I think that you just learn to manage them better.
On the whole, for me, life is good.
