Is it just me, or has 300 made a bigger impact than normal?

I ask this because I've noticed on these forums a lot of people have something to do with 300 in their sig. I know it's expected of some people, but it seems to me like more people do it that would normally do. Especially custom ones they've made, like placing the king's head on Zidane during that foul. I saw it, great movie, by the way.

Anone else out there see my point?

Its probably one of the biggest pop culture references to catch on extremely quickly. I'm sure if GS was here in the days of Empire Strikes Back everyone would be someones father. 300 is just the kind of film that has the ability to referenced loads of irrelevant times, such as someone dislikes something you like, you just pull out a "This is Blasphemy....This is Madness" etc etc, thats a reason why its got on so quickly and so easily. Plus its a great film that appeals heavily to teenage males, something that applies greatly here.Apollo5000

i heard it was supposed to change cinema forever :o but i have no one to go to the movies with so ill wait for DVD and watch it on my DLP :DX360PS3AMD05

You might just want to go on your own, it's a film that's almost designed for the cinema. A big film needs a big screen.

You see thats why 300 has got on. You can't do that with Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. But you can easily reference 300 at any time in a conversation. Thats a huge part of its internet appeal.

I don't really see what all of the fuss was about. I saw it, and felt that it was, well, mediocre. Some of my friends thought the same.

Sure, it looks great, but the film is little more than a stylish action film (and very lite on plot, even for an action film). Why does everyone think that it was amazing?!
