Is it just me, or is Firefox 4 faster than Chrome?

After doing the adblock plus + about:config tweaks, I tested it out compared to Chrome, and Firefox 4 is faster.

I did a test on each site I visit every day and Firefox 4 is faster on each one of them. I'm on a Mac if that matters.

It is, i would use it if flash didn't crash as much, and the whole browser didn't freeze as much.

I don't use Firefox anymore.

I think its just you that cares any more. The odd split second difference isnt enough to annoy me in to changing browsers. Big_Bad_Sad

this i agree with, i'm not going back to firefox and putting up with the crashing. But then a split second isn't enough to make up for how slow comes up when you first turn on windows.

According to windows task manager, firefox uses 86,000K and chrome uses 128,000K. I don't get the argument that firefox uses too much memory when on none of my PCs does it do that.

Are your guy's computers from the 1990s? Since when are we actually measuring trivial differences in small memory apps like these..

No. I ran speed tests on various websites (Youtube, Yahoo, GS, etc) with Firefox 3.6, Firefox 4 & Chrome. In most cases, Chrome beat out both firefoxs. This was yesterday btw;)

Just read this article for various speed tests done. Easy read with lots of graphs.

Firefox had a memory leak bug a long time ago causing it to reach into the 1,000,000s, but that was fixed ages ago.

I never understood the memory argument. What, are you running a computer from 1995? Even low-end computers with 2gb of ram should be able to handle either browser without needing more memory for much else.

Used to use internet explorer for ever but just switched to Google chrome and i am never switching back.

I can't really tell the difference between the two just yet since I just started using Chrome today. I got tired of Firefox crashing all the time.

I don't know about faster but I like it cause they have this option to put tabs at bottom of address bar.

The Firefox beta is incredible. It's Chrome + Firefox, and that's just awesome. Tab pinning and grouping is great, as well.dreDREb13
