I think it's great but I would have to agree with moptopskate; they need to stop suspending people for mundane things.DeeJayInphinity
Exactly!
90% of the users at GS are mods. this is a well established fact. One of the growing problems at this site has been the atrocious mod on mod violence. Moderations and then counter-moderations. It gets messy.sonicare
I think that 10/10 people posting here aren't mods, but I think its because mods reading this are scared of voicing thier own opinion because they are already mods.
I have noticed thre are mods on most boards most of the time, and wow. I have never seen a site so dedicated to keeping their forums clean. I find it hilarious that someone can post an offensive topic and it gets modded in 20 seconds. I guess it's a good thing to them because they are holding up the Terms of Use, but no where else on the internet do I see modding the way it is here. But it can be a bad thing because mods can suspend people, scaring them into typing some things. Plus there are a ton of mods out there, i get more mail from mods than I do friends. Most of it isn't bad.:) Comments suggestions?premier111:twisted: We're everywhere. But we're your friends . . .

You get mail from mods? I don't get mail from mods. I guess it means I'm less cool. :cry:Funkyhamster
They ask me to go out for dinner and a movie :\, that makes me more cool?
Users get points when they report other users. That's how the Mods find out so quickly. I'm sureplenty of users just patrol the forums looking for someone to report.MagnumPI
Uh, no...Points haven't been given out in 2 years now.
I think the reason that it seems like mods are all over the place is because we are regular users like you guys. We still post just the same as we did when we were regular users.

What??? Really? *Puts on savvy detective hat* I got a job to do!
Yeah that 90% of the users on GS are Mods, is actually true. You may not know it, but I'm an undercover Mod :o. Yeah the Mods do a great job around here.
I would like some mods to use a little bit more common sense, especially for suspensions! Mercury88Yeah, ME TOO. But I don't think common sense is the problem. The problem isstrict rules+ Hardasses =abused authority. I'm sure mods get personal and things become vindictive, not professional.
Gamespot REALLY needs to update their User agreement and Terms & Services statement. How am supposed to know you don't award users for reporting anymore? I didn't get a memo.
Okay, well you show me where it says that reporting users gets you something in return and I'll admit I'm wrong.
And while we're on the subject... Not everything is defined to be against the ToU because it would be easier for people to try to find loopholes. Taunting someone is trolling, though. That should be fairly obvious given the context of the trolling definition given.

The terms statement I recieved under suspension was different than the one that's under the knowledge base. There is no detailed description penalty. Thereare no details it's all vague. I'llsave the link from address bar next time or take a screenshot for you.

But yes, CNet legal needs to update the ToU. We've been trying to get them to do that for a while now.
