Is it NORMAL for me to NOT LIKE music that much?

I won't go and listen to music in my free time that much. I don't have an ipod, just a PSP for music, which I hardly use it for. The only type of music that might interest me is video game music, but that gets old and no point in listening to it. For some reason my mind views it as a waste to just listen to it, it doesn't do me anything beneficial.

I mean hey sometimes I might and I'll really like a song and I'll listen to it, but other than that, I don't really listen to it much. I'm not THAT much into music, though I will like songs when I first listen to them(for example I like the soundtrack from OBLIVION, 300, God of War, Lord of the Rings), but I never really listen to them again. Is this normal for me to not be really involved in music? It's just that everyone around me in high school is so I was wondering.

For one I'm NEVER getting into Heavy Metal. I sometimes like calm soothing music, sometimes I like rock, some rap(Walk it out lol), but I just don't listen to it that much. For one it costs a lot of $, if I just want one song, iTunes charges $1 per song(some albums are very cheap), and I don't want to do it the "OTHER" WAY.RyuHayabusaX

Whats wrong with metal.  It is iggnorant to say you don't like it for no reason.  But you have to increase your amount of songs you listen to.

I used to listen to SOAD, and Rammstein with some VG music.  Then I went and saw the metal documentary "Metal: A headbangers journey"

I saw Angela Glasgow of Arch Enemy sing and I was interested in the band.  I found some of the band i liked.  From liking Arch Enemy I started liking metal.  Now I listen to 5+ hours of metal a day.

But yeah, i never JUST listen to music in my free time. I just put it on when i'm doing stuff. like right now i'm listening to music. or when i'm in the car. or in science class. or sometimes i'll pute on spongebob, mute it, then put on some rap music :D
