[QUOTE="MichBelle"]If it's her best friend I don't think it's really a problem. It's not like it's some random guy she's flirting with. And you never want to mess with the best friend relationship, the best friend is always going to win.snugglebearAnd this is because women are demented and like to keep "extra guys" around. Don't want to fly without a parachute, right?
Man, this bugs me so much.
Last time I checked, if you are driving you can ensure people sit where you want them to or the car doesn't go anywhere. Your 'gf' gets to sit in the front seat next to you. End of story. What situation might occur that you couldn't make that happen?FragStains
Well it's possible if it's a 2door with 3 people, or you're not in the car. You can't be hanging out with your gf every single day for every moment of the day.
No it isnt. And if she was worth having as a girlfriend she would know already and something like this would never take place.

Exactly. Imagine what she does when you're not around if she sits on other guys' laps when you are around. So, your girlfriend was sitting on some dude's lap?
hmmm,
If i was you, that guy would be preparing himself for the pain of being tied down and set on fire.
that is absolutely unacceptable

Wow, you're definitely rude and bitter, huh? I don't like or need to "keep extra guys around." And I'm certainly not demented.
Rude? Usually not. Probably bitter, yes. I've seen how the "he's just a really good friend" routine plays out in its various forms. I didn't mean to imply you, personally, and I guess I could have phrased that differently.
This. Girls always try to play the "he is just my friend" excuse, but its usually to hide something. Either they had or has something going and your girl still has feeling for him. And do not accept the "she is just my friend" excuse either when you see something funny going on, cuz these days like 80% of girls go both ways and you might not even know it.No, it's terrible. You should set them both on fire.

If it's anything but a girl or a gay guy, then I think that could be a problem. Avoid making too much of a scene about it though, girls tend to side with the best friend.
I would call her out right on the spot and ask her how she thinks that is appropriate. It's not his fault that he's a spineless bottom-dweller that purposely chills in the friend zone so that he can be on the first call list when you guys break up, or when she gets drunk.
Refer to Joe Rogan's stand-up comedy on the subject.

It's not ok for anyone to be sitting on anyone's lap during car rides.
Why not?
probably cuz its not save, and the one sitting on the other person lap can fly out the window in a car crash People are really too parnoid these days.just tell her you dont feel comfortable with it, and if she tells you to stop being paranoid and live with it, secretly ask one of her friends to sit on your lap and see how she reacts.
Have no GF, have no best friend, and if i did i would be pissed. But of course i would act like i always do and just ignore it to the best of my abilites.
I'd feel weird if someone else's GF sat on my lap, She's with another guy, why on Earth would she sit on my lap?Im_singleWhy complain? Go with the flow. ;)
It'd bother me so much if it was this one specific best friend. She used to have a GIANT thing for her until me (she still might...?) and since she's a 5 on the kinsey scale it's worrisome =\.
I'm going to have to talk to her about it the next time she "falls asleep snuggling with her".
But any of her other friends it wouldn't unless she chose them over me :P
