Is it possible to not get moderated on this site?

This Im asking mainly to the people to have few to zero of them. Zero is a number even I'm shocked at given how the TOU is never as clear cut as it seems. It seems like no matter what I do I can't not get moderated. I've been here over 6 years and I admit at first I just didnt care and was wreckless. But now with so many moderations under my belt I'm trying to calm it down and be a good poster...all-the-whilte seemingly failing in the process. I dont see how anyone can not get moderated at least once here. Seeing as how sometime at some point in some way someone is going to take offense to something you say. Rant over. Carry on ladies and gents. Whats your opinion on this?

You've had four moderations:

1. You made a thread about Inception in which all you said in your first post was "I saw Inception, and I had no idea what the **** was going on."

This was at a time when there were probably a good two or three threads on the front page about the movie that you could have posted in.

2. Your next one is merely a post where you quoted some censor bypassing and the moderator deleted it without so much as putting a bad mark in your history.

3. You made a thread on Off-Topic about playing Xbox Live. Game discussion belongs on the game forums, not OT.

4. You could probably ask for clarification on this one in Ask the Mods. I suspect it was the phrase "mm mm mm < the noise black people make." We often moderate people for posting racial stereotypes, but this could be borderline.

In all the years I've been here, I've only been modded twice. One infraction I actually agree with and understood, but I'm still kind of ticked about the other one lol.

I think it's mostly about the attitude a person has going into the debate. If you allow it to become personal for you, it has the potential to upset you. If you treat it as a conversation rather than an argument (which means openness to other ideas even if it's extremely unlikely that this one conversation is going to radically alter your beliefs), then you're less likely to be affected by it. If you treat all your debates here as nothing more than an interesting intellectual exercise, you're far less likely to receive moderations for it. It can be difficult to do that when you debate topics which are important in your life, but it's not impossible.

It's not very likely. I've gotten one for grabbing a picture that was sitting on the site for about a year...

I know... I just wish I could actually see WHAT I violated other then Game Faqs Reason, Game Faqs Action etc. without having to go out of my way. I think the moderator must have not known about the GS glitch (With the whole posting to see other posts thing) and thought I was posting that just to be annoying. Too bad GS can't have their own game specific boards :/

That's why I post my game-related questions in the platform boards...that way, I can avoid Gamefaqs altogether, and still get my question answered.:)

Yup...for example, if you game on a PC, ask your game question in the "PC and Mac Games" forum. PC, 360, PS3, GGD, and so on aren't mirrored at Gamefaqs.

Just don't click on "Forum" when you're on a Game Webpage...those are all Gamefaqs.

Yeah it is entirely possible. I've only had one moderation over close to six years, and the one which I got moderated for was totally deserving. Actually I reckon it is a whole lot worse than what it actually got moderated for :P
